When PEC*PADs are used with PEC-12(r), they are ideally suited for cleaning photographic film and print emulsions. PEC*PADs are available in two convenient sizes. The 4 x 4 inch (10 cm.sq.) wipes are perfect for cleaning 35mm and other small areas PEC*PAD is not recommended for cleaning the CCD. It is not the same material used in the Sensor Swabs. PSI does not approve or warranty the CCD or any camera part from any damage caused by using non approved products

Having said that, the seller (Calumet) has emailed me 14 TIMES since the purchase asking for a review. Their emails do not include an unsubscribe link.
I am posting this review only do stop the incessant emails and do not plan to EVER purchase anything else from this this seller.
I initially cut open one side of the plastic wrap of the wipes and pulled a wipe at a time out of the package. Since they are tightly packed, the pulling generated lots of friction on the surface of the wipe and thus lots of lint. I then cut a bigger opening and the lint is no longer present. It took a few exercises to learn how to wipe well and how much force should be used. Each wipe is big enough that it can be re-wrapped several times.
A good cleaning should not introduce new spots to the sensor. But if you find lint and do not want to touch the sensor again, a rocket blaster will help remove the lint. There is a spot that I cannot remove after repeated wiping. It might be on the back of the glass and I have to live with it. I put these wipes, the E2 solution, the SensorWand, and the rocket blaster into a Ziploc bag to keep them away from dirt.
I ordered all the items from Micro-Tools, which will do combined shipping and reduce shipping cost. Micro-Tools even included a small bag of candies in the shipment.
Until technology catches up, these seem to be the best alternative. Always use a gentle lifting motion to avoid scratching the emulsion with whatever dust may be on the surface. You can't be too careful. When it comes to sensitive surfaces, EVERYTHING counts as "grit." A quart-sized Ziplock bag works well for storing the opened package. It may be a little inconvenient, but it keeps the unusused wipes pristine and still keeps the bulk to a minimum, if you're tucking them into a camera bag.
A note on the cleaning of heirloom photos:
Modern cleaning products were made for modern emulsions. Never risk using them on photographic media from another era. The results can be devastating.
