    Sound Quality
The only other open-back design headphones I own are some Grado SR60s. These Sennheisers blow them out of the water. Right out of the box they had great bass response but after hooking them up to my computer and letting them break in for ~100 hours over the course of about a week they sound incredible. I use these exclusively with my desktop computer and run them into my Logitech G110 keyboard which has audio and mic inputs. It then converts it to USB audio. This gives it a very clear sound and there is no buzzing or hissing common with the audio ports build into most motherboards these days. I see no need for a dedicated sound card as this combination is more than enough to power these headphones. The bass is great, not boomy and artificial like many headphones go for, but clear and powerful. Overall great sound that you will not be disappointed with.

The microphone is also great. I have used it for Skype and Ventrilo and people have commented on the clear sound quality. When you move the boom up, it will click when it is nearly vertical which means that the mic is muted. Very convient when you need to talk to someone physically next to you without wanting to broadcast your conversation to whomever you are talking to on the computer. The range of motion of the boom is enough so that you can find a sweet spot of being heard while not catching your breathing sounds.

    Comfort
They are much more comfortable than my Sennheiser HD280s, which are my only other circumaural headphones right now. These have more than sufficient force to stay on your head while not squeezing your head like a vise. I have a larger than average head (hat size 7-7/8) and I don't even use the largest setting on these. The earpads are soft velour material and are very comfortable. Being open-back, your ears don't get hot and sweaty even after wearing them for hours at a time, something that I found to be very uncomfortable in closed ear designs.

    Design
I'm not one to put too much stock into the looks of my headphones but these do look pretty good. The simple black color and rounded styling looks good on my head.

    Functionality
The plug end of the cord splits into a Y shape and has connectors for both the mic and headphones separately. There is also a volume dial on the right earcup that lets you control the volume somewhat. It doesn't cover a 0-100% range of sound, more like a 50-100% range, meaning that if you max out the sound then turn the dial all the way down, your volume will still be at around 50% instead of completely off. I actually like this because when people talk to me I just dial down and can still hear them while being able to hear what I was listening to on the computer. It's much easier than changing over to iTunes or whatever program I'm using and turning down the volume there.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase. It's been almost 3 months since I've bought them and I've used them almost every day since then. The sound quality has improved as the drivers have burned in and nothing has broken or cracked.
Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2013
After reading a lot of good things about this item on multiple sites I purchased this. I figured $300 headphones plus good reviews must be worth it. I even upgraded my sound card to the Sound Blaster Z in anticipation realizing that it won't have it's own sound amplification.

I've fiddled around with the settings so much and just couldn't find any setting that produced high quality sound.

    Pros:

It is very comfortable and adjusts well for people with large heads.
Microphone can produce CD quality recordings.
    Very long cord.

    Cons:

Basically, it's just headphones that doesn't produce any better playback quality than a pair of $30 Logitech headphones. Without using a quality sound card the playback comes through at transistor quality. With a good sound card and settings you get tape quality playback at best. For headphones you should be aiming for CD or DVD quality audio playback.
The sound is fuzzy at higher frequencies.
Quality of material used to make I consider sub par. It feels more like a mid quality-close to cheap-in the hands.
    Not hi fidelity.
    No bass.

    Other thoughts:

What I was specifically looking for was a good microphone on wired headphones. My other headphones are wireless and thus the mics don't record on that great of quality because most of the RF bandwidth is dedicated to sound and not mic. So you tend to get a drop in frequency and record quality when trying to use those mics. At the very least the mic on the Sennheiser is what I really was looking for. I just hate having to record audio using that then having to switch to my other headset or speakers to hear the playback.

I own several headphones I use for gaming and other purposes. My Sound Blaster Omega Tactic 3D blows the Sennheiser out of the water in all respects except for the mic. The SB has it's own built in amplification and you can get very rich tones through it compared to the Sennheiser. The Sennheiser is extremely dependent on amplification provided by other hardware sources whether it be a good sound card or an addon amp. But even with a good sound card you struggle to find settings that are acceptable for playback.

The sound is clear but not rich. So don't expect to be rocking out to a heavy metal song because you'll be sorely disappointed because you won't get full mid and low tones one would expect (unless you buy an amp). But I suspect even with an amp there wouldn't be an overall improvement because the sound does have a fuzzy overtone at higher frequencies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Une très bon casque-micro avec un très bon rapport qualité/prix
Reviewed in France on May 9, 2014

5.0 out of 5 stars Gaming audiofilo
Reviewed in Italy on July 7, 2013

5.0 out of 5 stars Impresionantes. Difícil encontrar auriculares con mejor sonido
Reviewed in Spain on September 19, 2012

5.0 out of 5 stars Great headset !

I've been using these for just under 3 weeks nows, and they're great! I was looking for a headset that would give great directional queues in gaming, but sound great playing music and movies too, i'm pleased with the PC360. Theres definately a noticable improvement when listening to music/watching movies with these over my speakers and other headphones/headsets, which is great, but I mainly chose the PC360s for better gaming directional audio. In the games that can deliver directional audio, I can distinguish sound coming from 12'o'clock appart from that coming from 2'o'clock directions pretty easily. On some games its much more accurate, like on Killing Floor, i can locate enemies in a forest with sounds alone using this headset.

The mic works well, it gets muted when the mic's 'boom arm' is lifted up, and activates when the mic is lowered, whilst giving a nice little click to let you know when the mic has been muted/unmuted. The earcups are large and rimmed with a nice velvet-like padding. The headband also has some velvet padding, and can be adjusted to fit very big heads. I have the headbands set on the 8th 'notch' on the left and right earcups and it fits very nicely - there are up to 18 notches on both sides. The build seems really sturdy so far, i've dropped the PC360's several times and trodden over the wire with both my chair AND the desk - i've also accidently pulled on the wire (stepped on the wire then stood up xD), yet the headset still performs without flaws. The wire is easily long enough (over 2m it looks like). The earcups use an open-ear design, they DO let sound in and out, though i've not found this to be a problem. The headset in reallly comfortable, I've can wear it for hours and not be affected by it, they're pretty light too. Volume control is also very convenient with the headset, there's a volume dial on the right earcup which can adjust the vol from 100% down to around 25% - which i've found to be super helpful. The PC360s do everything I wanted them to do. The only negative I can think of is that the wire could have been shorter, but I don't mind it at all. The PC360 is a great headset.

I planned on getting a soundcard with a dedicated amp along with the PC360, but ended up getting the PC360 alone. They're plugged into my onboard lineout (P5QL Pro mobo), and they get driven nicely. The PC360's aren't hard to drive, I can plug them into my PSP and still get a very decent volume with good quality sound. I'll be getting a soundcard soon (most likely the Xonar Essence STX) and i'll update this review once i've tested out the PC360's with the better audio source.
