Top Customer Reviews
I contacted Amazon.com regarding this, and a number of e-mails have been exchanged, and the upshot has been that the claim was denied because the Vendor's return policy supersedes that of Amazon. Of course, I did not actually read the policy before purchasing the item; true, I could have protected myself by being suspicious of both Amazon and evVive Home by reading their return policy After purchase, and if I found it to be deceptive and impossible to utilize in practice, I could have canceled the purchase. Frankly, I expected Amazon.com to be less contemptuous of its customers and more stringent in coddling deceptive vendors on their website.
I have purchased a new identical unit and hope it does not stop working so soon. Fortunately, I have Buyer's insurance, and I have asked my credit card company to withdraw payment for the defective item---they will go after Amazon. I do not appreciate being deceived, nor do I relish the thought that Amazon.com cared less about their customers than their own vendors, no matter how horrible they may be.
It turned out after going through customer service at GE, that there is an additional plastic covering over the keypad. It looks really bad, but it is only the plastic that is cracked and bubbled. Carefully, remove it with fingers or tweezers and everything will be all right.
Try contacting GE Customer Service directly with any issues. In the past they have been really helpful.
