size 9 Too narrow at ankle for a normal 8.5 wide to get on easily.

I ordered a 9 because there was no 8.5. I usually wear a wide 8.5. I think they are cute. Once I got them on, they felt okay short term, but the ankle area was too narrow to slide in my foot without a lot of effort. Getting them off was harder than i wanted for the same reason. I think they are wide enough. They were also quite stiff, probably because they had delivered below freezing to the porch; however, while I don't need floppy boots, I think I will continue my search for a better overall match to what i'm wanting. With a Kohls not too far away, this, my first personal amazon return process, looks like it is going to be free and seamless, for which I am grateful. .

REVIEWING : PENNYSUE Women's Mid Calf Rain Boots Outdoor Work Rubber Booties Short Waterproof Garden Shoes

I love these boots. They are perfect for working in my garden during the rainy season in Hawaii. On days that I plan on wearing them for a long time I will put in an insert as these do not have an arch and I flat feet. I wear a 5 1/2 shoe and these fit me just fine with just a bit of extra space in the toe area. They slip on easily. They may be too narrow for folks with larger calves. They have a tab in the back that makes it easy to pull them on. While I don’t actually need my garden boots to look stylish, I enjoy that these do have a textured pattern and are a nice shade of blue.

Very happy to have these boots.
