The two LED bulbs produce a beam of light while providing a burn time of 140 hours! A large, grooved on/off switch makes the Tikkina ultra-easy to operate. The two LED bulbs produce a brightness of 18 Lumens, sufficient to cast light up to 75-Feet. A hinge on the housing of the lamp enables you to aim the beam where you need it most. The Tikkina is powered by three Alkaline AAA batteries (included). With batteries, the Tikkina weighs a mere 2.75-Ounce. A comfortable, elastic headband allows the Tikkina to adjust to fit varied head sizes. The Petzl Tikkina is water-resistant and suitable for all-weather use.

I bought this a while ago for a headlamp just to keep in my glove box as a backup and for emergencies. I have a great princeton tec quad headlamp that i love. this was $20 and when i bought it it was well worth it, however much better headlamps are now in this price range so this product needs to go down in price as well. I have seen the princeton tec quad for about $3 more and that headlamp makes this one look like a bic lighter, plus it is waterproof. However, if this were to go down to about $10 it would be well worth it for the casual user or something to keep by your bed or in your car or for little kids to use so you don't have to worry about them breaking or losing a $40 to $50 headlamp while camping in the back yard. This lamp is very durable and pretty bright for only having 2 LED's. The battery life is incredible and it is comfortable and fully adjustable. The worst thing about it is that it uses a switch to turn it on and off instead of a push button but that is a very minor complaint. The only real current drawback is that you can get the newer, better headlamps now for just a few dollars more. Petzl really needs to adjust the price of this product.

I reviewed many comments and descriptions before I bought this beam. It seemed to be the best buy for my use. I was right. Wide, bright light. Reaches out a fair distance, but anywhere within a 8-foot reach, it's like daylight. Very bright to look at considering it is only two leds. The batteries are a bit of a magic trick to get in. Petzl furnishes the batteries, which is a nice touch. but putting batteries in the three bat compartment calls for holding your jaw just right or they will "spring" out of their position, causing the back to not close properly. Once you get the art of the battery mastered, the lamp snaps closed tightly and is a solid performer. the headband is comfortable and the whole system just feels balanced on my gourd. the up-down swivel is really a plus.

After using it for garage chores, walking in the evening, and cooking on the grill outside, I'd say it's well worth the money and should serve you well for a long time.

It has a nice bright light. I use it when I walk my dogs at night, when I'm crawling around in the attic, when I'm doing electrical work and need good close up light. The only thing I wish it had is a plastic cap over the 2 little lights because I'm so careless I'm afraid I'll break the bulbs. Also, I used to have one that I bought at Big Box Orange Logo home improvement store that had the capacity to tilt the light in any direction up or down. I really love that feature and this light doesn't have it. That is why i gave it a 4.

I do a lot of night running and lead outdoor expeditions. I bought this head lamp as a cheaper back up to my other head lamps. I did a night run once and the light would start to flick on and off. Which is a bit dangerous when running through the woods. It only has one setting, so there is no power saver mode or blinking mode or any of those other goodies. Also on another run the glass piece that covers the LEDs fell out on trail.
It is definitely a lower grade Petzl head lamp and it shows when you use it. If you don't do very rigorous activities with your head lamp then this isn't a bad idea, but if you depend on your lamp for illumination than upgrade.

I bought this for my wife as a stocking stuffer. We finally went camping and I was the only one who used it. It works great, and it's nice to have both hands free when walking at night. It seems very durable, and the 2-LED system is sufficient. Also, I like the adjustable tilt of the beam.

As an aside: I think my wife thinks I look like a tool when wearing it around. That's OK, it's more about function over form.

Great product and durable as heck. I purchased this light for my son for Cub Scout camping. Let's just say he is not exactly easy on things and add in tromping around the forest with a Pack of boys, rarely does anything survive.

I am proud to say have a year + and several camping trips, the headlight is still fully functional and has turned out to be a really great, reliable product.

Picking a dark color was good, just to avoid showing dirt. Very good value for the money! Oh and I have not lost the boy even once!

Secure battery compartment is not secure

This is not my first product review, but is my first negative one. Unfortunately this particular Petzl Headlamp model failed to meet my expectations in one major respect, that is the battery compartment did not stay closed and secure, thus rendering the headlight completely useless. From my perspective this is critical, especially when you are operating in a hands free environment where light is essential. Today, I am returning the Petzl and have purchased a replacement headlamp from Amazon; however, a diffrent make and model. Perhaps you will have better luck or will research and spend a little more money to eliminate any fundamental reliability issues experienced by this consumer. I intend to evaluate and post a favorable review on my replacement headlamp in the near future.

It's fairly light weight and works. Decently bright though the more expensive ones are brighter and come with a red LED which this one doesn't have. If you need a cheap light for around a camp site and you don't care about having a red LED then this might be the light for you.
