Compact, mounts directly on a broad flat surface
This quick-release was ideal for my binoculars on a big astro U-mount. RC2-type clamps would need extra hardware to get clearance for the release lever. This PGYTECH mounts directly on a broad flat surface. The release button is easy to operate while reaching in under the binoculars. It is compact, adds minimal height to the setup. PGYTECH chose to use a button for the release. Good choice. In tight space, button is easier than lever.Sliding the release button sideways locks the button, preventing accidental button press. The button lock is just for the button. Locking the button does not affect the plate lock. The plate can snap in if button is locked with the base empty. After the plate is snapped in, there is no way that force on the plate can open the latch.
