It seems to put out nice fresh air, cleaning out 99.9 % (Philips estimate) of pollutants but unfortunately just not much of it, especially on low setting which it starts up with, it just barely oozes out. On the Philips web site it says that it puts out 10 cubic meters an hour(on high ?) and my compact car inside has a bit over 3 cubic meters, so it should clean the air in my car about every 20 minutes in a closed system. The instructions for the GoPure say in bold that you should operate it with your windows closed and your car ventilation on low or circulate. On low my heater/AC brings in from the outside perhaps more than 10 times as much air per minute as the GoPure can clean. If you operate your car on circulate for long you are running the risk of increasing the CO2 in the cabin which could make you drowsy, but it is not a bad strategy to use circulate for a few minutes at a time when you pass a gravel pit or are stuck in traffic.
I’ve been a housewares buyer for almost 50 year and I have a keen sense of intrinsic value or what things are really worth. In looking at the GoPure I see attachment devices, a composite plastic box, a heavy duty fan, a filter, some sensors, controls, packaging and instructions. When I add it all up I think it should sell for less than a $100 rather than the $178 to $205 that is being charged. The filter replacements at $32 to $42 seem a bit high too but they are really 3 filters on top of each other but still are only about 5 inches square. Each filter unit lasts 350 hours which should last the average person about a year. But if you drive 25,000 thousand miles a year or more or go through highly polluted areas regularly you may need a couple of filters each year.
I would recommend the GoPure 200 if you have medical conditions or allergies that merit it and you have plenty of money but for the average person you might want to try some of the alternatives first. If you have an in cabin air filter in your car you might want to change it regularly. Some newer model mid level and above cars have them, especially Japanese cars. Next time you service your car ask them if it has an in cabin air filter. Philips has tested the GoPure against plug in negative ionizers (about $20 each) and says that the GoPure works 3 times as well getting smoke, odors or pollutants out of the air as ionizers. You might just want to get 2 or 3 ionizers to do the job. I’m not a fan of Ionizers as they take pollutants out of the air and stain the interior of your car with them but if you have an older car that might not matter to you. Containers with activated bamboo charcoal are also popular. Charcoal over the years has shown its ability to absorb pollutants. These bags can be recharged by putting them in the sun for a few hours but should be replaced after a year or so. Odor absorbing gels in containers can be purchased at home stores and cost about $5 but one should be careful to keep them upright and not rolling around and should be replaced every 3-4 months. Face mask filters are another alternative available at home stores. Portable Ozone generators with timers can be used to get rid of odors in your car but should never be used when you are in the car. Other simple things like cleaning out your car of materials and papers can also make a difference. Wool blankets are known to attract allergens and pollutants, leave one in your car but wash it regularly.
I have always had the highest regard for the Philips brand especially their LED light bulbs. Philips products do what they say they do and are very well designed. Most of their products deservie 4 or 5 stars and customer loyalty. The GoPure 200 clean air system gets only 3 stars from me due to the low volume of air it puts out and its relatively high costs.
I got a burger with onions, and onion rings for lunch. Usually that smell lingers for days. This purifier had completely removed the smells by the time I got back to work. (About 10 minutes)!

I would not recommend this product. I Recommend to build some stronger model in order to do the job it is intended for.
