I used two of these to get Ethernet to a part of the house that had a telephone jack but no cat 5 (and no easy way to run cable). They're super stable, and I'm easily getting 100Mbit over a ~30m run. It's not a cheap solution, but it saves you spending time stringing cable or hiring someone to do it (which could easily cost more than $200).

Worked great for a year and a half, then they just quit. I TDR'd the copper pair, perfect for 4,029 feet, no shorts, no opens. TDR'd the drop cable, no shorts, no opens. changed Lightning protector blocks at both ends, still didn't work, rechecked my wallmount biscuits at both ends, still wouldn't train up. Lights still flashed slowly, but would not flash fast for Train Up.... ended up buying a different name brand, plugged them in, instant Train Up. Too much money to spend on them going out after 1.5 years, definitely buy the Asurion Warranty, you will need it.

It is awesome piece of hardware. I use it as DSL bridge connected directly to my firewall instead of the bulky DSL router/modem provided by ISP and I have no complaints so far. It is small and I can easily fit it in the enclosure near the firewall.

There are few features I wish it had:
- PoE capability.
- console port

But it is good enough for my purpose as is.
