Works with IPHONE ONLY!

I would just like to let everyone know that Apple reverses the order of mic and ground in their jacks, and to compensate, this company decided to reverse their jacks as well. This will not work properly with all devices, as the mic and ground plates are swapped. I wouldn't plan on buying this unless you have an Apple product, everything else will have problems. I ended up returning this, which was extremely simple, as UPS can come to my house and pickup the item. I just pre-ordered the same thing but listed for Xbox One, which is good, as the one that I was using previously came with my Xbox One. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MG73JV2?keywords=2.5mm%20to%203.5mm&qid=1446005388&ref_=sr_1_10&sr=8-10) This product for Xbox One should work for Android, PC, and everything else, just know that the cord for Xbox One has both mic and headphone, so you may need a splitter to split it into the 2 channels if you are using it for PC.

For all those wondering, I have a Turtle Beach headset, and use this to record my voice with my PC. I record videos that are sometimes 3 hours long, and my old cord had to be positioned oddly to work properly.

No good for Xbox one chat headphones

This is a fine, well built, attractive cord. However, it DOES NOT WORK with Xbox one and Turtle Beach headsets chat feature, which is the reason I bought it. I wish it had said so in the description. Apparently the set up of the male plug can be one of two different ways, where the ground is situated or something. Anyway, if you need a cord for the Xbox one for chat headphones, do you research better than I did to make sure it works. I only figured this out after the fact when I read through the product questions and found it doesn't work for Xbox chat, and had to order the correct one.

Did not work with Galaxy S3; plug it in, phone shows "earphones attached" but as soon as I make a call the headphone icon goes off and no one can hear me; if I unplug it while on call and plug it back it, phone recognizes it again and I can hear other party but they can't hear me. Looks identical to the dongle I was replacing (three bars on the male end). Don't have a clue why it won't work with phone. If I plug it into computer to use with VOIP it works fine. Good price and fast shipping - Maybe it is just incompatible with Samsung Galaxy.

This product connected as described. That's about all it did right. I'm sure there are certain headsets that this will work for. Just not for the application that I wanted. I even tried to connect my turtle beach headset to my phone, and still couldn't get the mic to work.
Unfortunately, the turtle beach X42 to Xbox One with the 3.5mm cable does not work. You need to buy a PS4 chat back cable for about $18 after taxes.
I will be returning this product.

Works for the speakers, not for the microphone

Bought this to connect my headset to my computer or my cell phone. The connector works fine for the speakers, but does not work for the microphone. Works the same way for both the computer and the cell phone: speakers yes, microphone no. I also bought a Josi Minea Black 3.5mm Male to 2.5mm Female Headphone Audio Adapter Extender Jack which works for the microphone but not the speakers. Now if I could only combine them.

NOTE-If you are trying to use this for (ex) a 2.5m headset to work with something that takes 3.5m that it ONLY transmit audio, it can't work with the mic. So you can only hear but can't talk. I found out the hard way. Can't talk with it on my iPhone 6, PC or even my PS4. For audio it works fine but many are looking for something that does audio and the mic. This does NOT do both, just audio.

May not support use of microphone of headset for mobile phone calls

For some reason Amazon recommends purchasing this product, when purchasing a Panasonic headset, so that the adapter can be used for cell phone calls. Only thing is that this adapter does not support the use of the microphone of the headset. Not the first time, Amazon recommends an adapter or add-on and that item does not work with the product in question. Will probably go through the hassle of returning.
