First of all, this review section is for 50 different items, so it's basically useless. That's my main complaint.

Secondly, I bought the pair of "Solid Brass Water Shut-Off Valve"s. Although they connect to 3/4 garden hose they fail to mention that the interior aperture is only about 5/16 in diameter. The valve is not full-flow.

If you're at the outlet end of a hose this valve will probably work OK. This valve restricts flow through a 8.6mm diameter hole, while the plastic unit it replaced has a hole of 10.5mm diameter. I attached a photo showing the difference in size of the thru hole. I looked at some better valves and they have 1/2" (12.7mm) holes, but they cost more too. A 1/2" hole will flow more than twice the flow of this valve. This explains why there is no end view in their listing. Everyone would see the issue.

Also, the adapter is NOT brass. It is aluminum with a brass finish.

Disappointed with this product. Both units I received leak, one of them through a pinhole in the brass, and the other at the hose union. Poor quality control. I threw them in the trash as soon as I tested and found that they leak. And yes, I did use the included rubber washers. Another problem with these valves is that they restrict water flow very badly. The opening of the ball valve is very small compared to the diameter of the housing.

I too am responding as did "Maria Feb 2020!" I bought this same set because I needed a manual shut off til I could attend to the outside faucet. Well, same thing happened to me! they did not provide enough metal in a weak point on the device! I only tightened the shutoff by hand and it cracked at the sleeve. Piece of junk. Dont know how it got such a good rating? The plastic ones sold at Lowes held up better! The good news, it got me to replace the faucet washer sooner.

PLG Solid Brass Water Hose Shut-Off Valve - Seems to be good quality BUT the opening is about as big as a drinking straw. So, it will reduce your flow (and pressure) from garden hose size to drinking straw size - NOT ACCEPTABLE! I'm not sure what the filter fitting is for- didn't examine it as it seems odd sized. You will need the two included washers, they are not extras since there are none installed on the valves.

Perfect addition for any hose end regardless of what attachment follows. I use one with quick detach for various lawn watering attachments (nozzles, wand, soaker, or nothing for adding water to the pool), and the other on the hose for the pressure washer. Sure makes it easier to start with the water off and turning on right after rhe engine starts!

Practically indestructible, will not pull apart like cheap plastic valves, or corrode like zinc (chromed valves). Weak point is the valve handle--it can break when run over by a car...

The handle on the unit is very short which makes it hard to turn the water off and on. (my wife can't turn the handle)
I sprayed WD40 externally to at handle/valve stem an worked it for 10-15 minutes and it improved a lot but still too tight for the wife to operate (it hurts her fingers). Other than that, it it beats the heck out of the plastic shut off valve which costs just as much and lasts perhaps a year with a little luck.
