The book is a reference guide, which allows responsible decision makers (project managers, team leaders, program managers, and anyone responsible for producing timely outcomes) to focus on the few basic things that can make or mar a successful project, even while wading through thousands of details. It covers everything from scheduling tasks to handling difficult stakeholders to navigating corporate politics. You will only find the actions that really matter in project management in this book.
Decision-making is a very important aspect of the business life of any team leader, hence the obvious significance of this book to any group leader in a company. Highly detailed and vividly explained with little illustrations, PM 101 comes across not just as a reference guide, but also as a companion to the business life of any such individual. Within a short space of time, the reader will come to understand the importance of this book in every successful endeavor he'd wrapped up with his team in their organization or business body.
Such chapter titles as INITIATION - THE FOUNDATION, PLANNING - THE BLUEPRINT, MEETINGS - THE TIME KILLER, etc separate the book's sections into chapters and make for easy referencing and reading. Author Kuthiala gets straight to the point on all the topics, and gives no room for typographical or grammatical errors. The book's interior layout is also well done, and all the noted topics are properly covered.
Organizational skills are needed in today's high-end business models and PM 101 is pure gold for any team leader hoping to achieve success repeatedly for his business group or organization.
