Top customer reviews
On to performance; I was able to hit 1807mhz/1997mhz clock/boost. Memory hit 9100mhz. These clocks are stable after hours of stress testing and gaming. I use an aggressive fan ramp/temp and my gpu temps never go over 62c. This is my first PNY video card and one of my main reasons for purchasing this card was the price, but performance is excellent and I am thoroughly happy with my purchase. Good job PNY.
Plenty of room to spare in a Core v21
Currently using a NZXT H440 case with 3 corsair SP120 fans and the stock fans that come with the case.
I have a FX-8350 and MSI 990FXA GAMING. (which probably isn't the best MB and CPU to use with this card)
Using MSI Afterburner for overclocking is really simple. Overclocking this card was really nice to see that it can handle an extra 100MHz on it. Using this card with an FX-8350 isn't probably the best way to get the most out of it since the CPU is really bottlenecking (limiting) this card's full potential.
The temperature on this card was really good. It stayed right below 50C while overclocked and under full load and does not artifact at all.
SUPER HAPPY ABOUT THIS AMAZING CARD
It runs very well and I can now turn up almost all in-game settings for Assetto Corsa, Rfactor2, Automobilista and RRE2. They all run at an amazing pace and extremely smooth.
The card runs cool, even over long extended races...so no heat or stability issues here.
I had to take one star off because it, unlike most other GTX1070 cards at this price-point, did not include any of the Nvidia games normally offered.
Overclocked to 2050 MHz, it typically reaches that in computing and gaming situations, though it throttles back to 1980 MHz when stressed with something like FurMark due to power limits (even after being bumped up to 112%). Memory is from Samsung and reached a stable 9.2 Gbps easily. There are sometimes very minor coil noises when put on a lot of load, but at which point the fan should be louder anyway and therefore is not a problem.
Used it to work with Octane Render, it kept a consistent high clock when put to work, and 8GB of VRAM also offered plenty headroom to work with. The compute performance can't be criticized at this price, probably one of the most cost efficient card along with 1080 Ti for these purposes. It also handled every game I threw at it at 1440p well, and should be futureproof for the next three or four years.
Cooling is decent and exceeds expectations. Tuned the fan curve with Afterburner, it kept a good temperature of 75 degrees with FurMark, and is very quiet (but definitely not silent) at somewhere around 35 dBA. When idling, the fan speed falls back to 27% with around 30 degrees, and is pretty much inaudible unless you try hard. The noise even on full load should not be a distraction if you have your headphones on or something.
The packaging is slightly lacking though. The color of the internal box seems to get onto your fingers a bit, and the quick start guide looks like it's written for a card in 2007, not 2017. I am being nit picking here and these should not impose anybody from buying this card.
