Product Description

PNY - Make Life Simple

Upgrade your PC Memory with PNY. Experience improved performance.

Today’s software applications make greater demands on your system’s memory. Take full advantage of your software’s productivity enhancements by upgrading your memory and optimizing the efficiency of your desktop PC, with a PNY memory upgrade. Let’s take a look at why you may need a memory upgrade, and how you can maximize your PC.

Potential Reasons for Needing More Memory

You Just Upgraded Your Operating System: One common reason for requiring additional computer RAM memory is operating system upgrades. For example, if you just upgraded your operating system you will find that Windows 8th or 7th requires more RAM than previous models. As operating systems become more sophisticated they need more memory to do their job. This will take away from the amount of computer RAM memory that is available to your other computer applications. Whenever you upgrade your operating system, it’s a good time to assess your computer’s RAM memory needs.

You’re Getting Your Game On: From the casual gamer needing a simple upgrade or storage solution, to the advanced gamer desiring all the dynamic visual effects of the latest DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 games. With today’s advanced visualizations on many popular PC games you may need to increase the RAM memory on your PC in order to maximize your gaming experience. As the gaming world evolves the more advanced games will put an increased memory demand on your system.

You Upgraded Your Business Software: Upgrades of common business software are another factor that can create a need for more RAM memory. Just as with operating systems, business software gets more complex with each new version/update, and invariably it seems like the computer RAM memory needs an increase. If you’re installing new software on your PC, closely look at its memory requirements, and see if you need to upgrade.

You’re Adding a New Graphics Card: If you are installing a new graphics card in your computer system, you may also need to add additional RAM to your computer. Graphics cards depend heavily on your computer’s main RAM, and if there’s not sufficient memory available the video card is going to have poor performance. To play it safe, your best bet is to reference the manufacturer’s specifications on your new graphics card, and see if you ultimately do need to purchase additional memory.

General Use Upgrade: If you realize that things are just taking too long to complete, or you can actually hear your computer “churning” while it is working on large tasks, this is a sign that it could benefit from more computer memory, and you should upgrade it as soon as possible to improve your computer’s general performance.

This 2 GB memory works flawlessly in the HP DC7900 small form factor, convertible minitower, and slimline. With this RAM, the computer can run Windows 7 x64 bit at its best. Also, it helps the SFF run optional PCIe low-profile graphics cards way more efficiently. All in all, this is a necessity for any version of the well built HP DC7900 desktop PC.

The product was accurately described and promptly shipped. Unfortunately, the first one was defective, and caused data corruption to my hard drive and master boot record, requiring a low-level format and clean install. However, the vendor stood behind the product without no argument, and very promptly shipped a replacement and their apologies, and the replacement has performed without incident. The experience wasn't flawless, and the manufacturer's quality control could be better, but none of that was attributable to the vendor. Good customer service carries the day, and despite the problem, I would have no hesitation in buying from the vendor again, and in recommending them to others.

Initially bought four sticks to upgrade memory on an old desktop computer. One stick was bad immediately, and was returned for a replacement.
A few months later, computer started showing BSOD. Traced the problem to a failed memory. It's too late to return. Bottom line: 2 sticks are bad out of 5, running on remaining 3 sticks.
Pleasant surprise is that this memory can function on an odd number of sticks.

I have used PNY products in the past so I did not hesitate to make this purchase. I needed to increase the amount of memory in my machine to help improve performance. This was exactly what it needed. An added bonus was the price point that made this purchase even easier.

I was upgrading a clients older vista computer, needed this DDR2 RAM to complete the upgrade. This is not performance RAM, but increasing the amount of it sure helps the older systems keep up with today's programs.

It worked great! Had my computer fixed and was replaced with a 1GB stick but it ran too slow for me. Did some research online and PNY was supposed to be a good brand for not too much money. It did speed up my computer and it wasn't very expensive. It didn't work with the 1GB stick so be careful and know what will work with what. Good buy though!

Having received two bad memory sticks from Amazon's inventory they suggested that I not purchase a third and try one of their other vendors. Turned out to be a good idea. The packaging was different suggesting a different manufacturing run for PNY. So far I have stressed the memory harder than I had the previous sticks and it seems to be working like a champ.
I am very satisfied.

I have an old Dell GX520 that has been running 1.25gb of RAM for a couple years. It's old and tired, so I grabbed a cheap stick of 2gb RAM and replaced the 256 stick it had. It's perked up a bit and I'm happy.
