The Joint VPD 2.0 Knee is a multi-purpose knee protector that offers a high level of protection and great freedom of movement. VPD adapts to the shape of the body, but when exposed to impact, the material stiffens and has extreme impact absorption properties.

I have a set of Fox Launch Pro pads that I've been wearing for the last few weeks, a descent pad, maybe a little bulky but the sizes run very small. Even the L/XL was giving me problems after an hour or so of riding.
I had these recommended to me by a friend and decided to spend the extra cash and give them a try.
I ordered a pair in XL size and as soon as I put them on I knew they were what I had been looking for, Light, comfortable and a good level of protection. The fit is perfect, the pad stays in place without chafing. They are a lower profile than the Fox pads I was using and there are no problems wearing them under 3/4 shorts. They are a little expensive but I'm happy with paying the extra cash for a pad that I can actually wear without discomfort.
I think POC now do a Downhill version that may be worth looking at if you need something more robust, after all these are more of a XC / Enduro pad.
Currently have only gone on a short ride with them and they have been very stiff and the material on the back of my knee scrunches up with bending and pinches the skin/hair.
I've given this 5 stars because the protection they provide IS real, as you would hope at this price point, but I am also looking for comfort. As of now the fit is... alright. I'm 6'4 175lbs with a lower thigh circumference of 17.3 and I bought the medium size. The material used feels amazing to the hands but after wearing them while around the house seems to need to break in to the form of you leg. The level of comfort has gone from... "eh" to "holy crap this is almost perfect" in a matter of a day.
My upper leg measurement is 15.5 and my lower leg is 11.5...I ordered a small and they are nice and snug and the actual padding wraps nicely around my knee and upper shin. They are not super bulky and offer good coverage. I will be using these for both DH and Enduro.
The protecting VPD material within a very elastic nylon sleeve help the pad form around the contour of your knee making it comfortably easy to be unnoticed, while still being secure.
Whether you are a soft rider just going out for a joy ride, or the go hard or go home rider with the intention of increasing your skill and passion to the top, the POC VPD Knee Pads can bring you there, and then some.
I use the POC VPD airs, which I absolutely love. I'll keep buying this brand.
