These balls are great for indoors. However after 6 months or so (only used indoors) the thin plastic coating on the surface of the ball begins to flake off and you find bits of plastic all over the floor. The first one I bought I thought was defective, but this happened with the second one as well.

i was hoping for a nerf equivalent from my youth that Nerf doesn't seem to sell anymore. I loved the bright color (mine came bright orange) and the fact that it is a sponger football perfect for my son. What I think it lacks is the perfect "weightiness" that always seemed to let me throw perfect spirals as a kid. This feels like a big piece of foam and nearly all throws end up as end of end woblers without the distance and beauty that were possible with a more solid feeling nerf ball.

Basic poof (nerf knock off) small basketball. It is light and easy to grip. We use it in the pool and it is easy to shoot wet or dry, but it is a different balance when waterlogged which makes it fun. My dog kept biting and popping our other water basketballs so I needed one that wouldn't get popped before I could say "Drop it!" It will not stand up to much biting, but was exactly what I was expecting for the price. For indoor use shooting a door hoop or kids game, it'll do just fine. It floats even when saturated. I'll be happy if it lasts the season.

Since it's now the dead of winter (20 below this morning), this hasn't gotten a whole lot of use yet and I can't speak to its durability. However, I can say it has the same appearance and feel of the original Nerf that I had when I was a kid. It has a nice plain-Jane design whith no funky shapes, textures, appendages, or logos, just like the ones Nerf doesn't make anymore! Throws real nice, doesn't hurt when it hits you in the head, and my kid loves it.

We have a b-ball playing area set up in our home. My son and his friends play constantly. I am always looking for acceptable balls to replace the ones that get worn out or "borrowed" to another hoop. This one is only ok. There is a Nerf type side that is fine. The opposite side is a stiffer material and has a hard plastic area that causes the ball, when bounced, to shoot off to one side or the other depending on how it hits the floor. As parents, we tried the, "if you can handle this ball just think what you'll be able to do on the court with a real ball" tactic but it didn't work. This ball has quickly been relegated to under the couch.

As other have said, the outside flakes and becomes a mess fairly quickly. It's a decent basketball, but quickly went outdoors because it was shedding like crazy where it is still played with despite becoming heavily damaged from the sun and rain.

I would not recommend this to a friend and will not purchase again.

This Poof ball is low quality. It's worth no more than $5.00. The old school spongy Nerf footballs were much higher quality and spiraled better. The ball is uneven so you can't throw a tight spiral. It looks like junk as well. It has paint splatter marks and dents in it. The good news is that it won't knock your kid out if they get hit in the head with it. If anyone knows of a higher quality old school soft Nerf type football, please let me know in the comments. Thanks

The quality is not like the old nerf balls they made in the 80s. But this is not a nerf football and nerf doesn't make them like this anymore. So this is the next best thing.
