About the Author
JoDa Hodge was born on Vermont's Bean Hollow Commune in the shadow of the abandoned Concord Air Force Base to a teacher and a carpenter. This off-the-grid community inspired Departed Harvest. JoDa quit his job as a cameraman and producer for WCAX-TV News in Burlington, Vermont, bought a Harley from a funeral home director and headed to San Francisco to track down the Beatnik ghosts. After riding solo cross-country on his Harley, JoDa published Freedom Road, a travel memoir about the broken American Dream. Over the next six years, JoDa wrote 13 one-hour episodes of the dark comedy Departed Harvest, winning the 2011 American International and the 2011 Rhode Island Film Festival Screenplay Competitions. JoDa formed a multi-media production company dedicated to the creation of high caliber, tightly-scripted features and television shows that preserve the writer’s original vision. In 2005 the company produced JoDa's first feature film, The Spread Eagles. He then shot the poetry documentary, Roaming the Big Top of American Poetry, gleaning poetic mentorship from New Hampshire Poet Laureates Donald Hall and Maxine Kumin; Pulitzer-winning Galway Kinnell; the legendary Gerald Stern; and Poetry Professors Thomas Lux and Chard deNiord. In 2014, JoDa shot the Departed Harvest proof of concept film at Luis Guzman's house after a successful Kickstarter campaign. JoDa also began editing Criminal Thinking—2 novels, 7 books of poetry and 22 ½ hour teleplays based on his 120 consecutive days served with convicts. JoDa has also been a producer for Kingdom County Productions, a celebrity cinematographer and is the author of 17 published books. JoDa has partnered with the gang from Down East Dickering, as seen on the History Channel, to create a new film and television series about backwoods Robin Hoods (TheHarvesters.TV), in addition to Vermonter.TV and some Green Mountain magic with Heady Topper Beer.

What I found inside was an incredibly candid, introspective look at the rise and fall of a relationship troubled by two strong, artistic, emotionally voulnerable persons.
JoDa's self effacing was quite a bit more prominant here than before, which, when writing about real life is a large step into understanding oneself.
It appears that Josi, and writing this piece helped JoDa finally be able to put some ointment on the wound under the bandages and begin to let it heal, instead of fester.
It was less Thompson and more Hodge.
He has officially found his voice.
