1. Lock tight the nut that attaches the mount to the setup.
2. Tether your camera to helmet.
Lost brand new garmin virb when it rattled off during a harescramble.
Question: right now all I have is a plastic chin piece with no nut w/ GoPro swivel thingy. Where can I get a replacement of just that hardware?
Update: Emailed company and they sent me new parts out free of charge. All good in my book!
This thing is super secure, no freeking straps that keep me from closing my shield all the way. Sees what I see unobstructed.
Installed the typical action camera mount on the top of both my helmets while waiting for the weather to warm up so I could ride; I watched the flat surface of the mount disengaging from the round surface of my helmets over a few days. No way was I going to trust that my fake gopro was going to stay on those helmets.
Ordered the ProShot mount. Camera taint going anywhere till I take it off. When I initially installed,
I was forcefully pushing the mount around the chin of the helmet to conform to the helmets shape, don't do that. Size it up, lightly mark with a pencil where the mating surface will be placed and install.
I did use fine (320grit) sandpaper on the mounting area to cut the gloss on my helmet to reassure myself of really good adhesion. The grip is bigley stong.
