Product Description

This fabulous knitting mill from Prym is a fantastic gadget for knitters! Similar to a knitting dolly, the mill has a handle which you can turn to make knitted tubes in no time at all. Let your imagination run wild and make scarves, bag handles, bags, cushions, mats and much much more! This knitting mill works well with most yarns suitable for hand knitting. Please note that the different types of yarn may need different tension to produce the desired knit. Thread smooth and thin yarns through all of the notches on the tension guide, chunky and irregular yarns produce a tight knit when threaded through fewer of the notches. Here are some tips to help you start using your new knitting mill - Drop a long end of yarn down the middle of mill when you start so you can grab it and place tension on the yarn as it moves through the mill. Slowly turn the handle and watch each latch hook open and close, if one doesn't stop. Use a fine crocket hook or a yarn needle to open and close the hook that doesn't cooperate. I do recommend starting very slowly and pick up speed gradually. Once you have made enough of a square to hold on to and put tension on it, it gets easier because the tension helps the hooks open and close. You will find that different yarns work better than others. Clip on weights could be used throughout but I still recommend using hand at the beginning. Boxed contents include:- Knitting Mill Maxi Crank Mode swith Yarn guide Tension piece Handle Plastic needle Legs Paper instructions for use

I love my knitting machine! No, it does not take the place of hand crocheting and knitting - but it sure turns out a very well made hat in no time at all! And it is very easy to use! I found videos on You Tube that made it's use so simple - - the included directions just were not very simple to understand. I under an hour you can make a hat, a scarf, etc!

I have known others who used theirs to make and sell hats at the flea markets! You can watch television and knit a hat or two in your spare time or when you are bored. I personally feel the machine is very well built and sturdy. I have had no issues at all. After you use it on one or two pieces, you pretty much learn the ins and outs.

Was wanting an Addi Express but thought I would purchase the Prym machine because it was 1/2 the cost. I was surprised about how well built it is. I can't imagine the Addi being built better. The only difference I can see is it does not have a row counter. The stitches are perfectly even and yarn does not get jammed.

received my prym knitting mill last week. and after numerous types of yarn and varying degrees of tension, i have come to the conclusion that this machine isn't worth what i paid for it. it consistently drops stitches, and hooks through the yarn itself. i am thoroughly and completely disappointed with this product. i will NEVER buy another product from this manufacturer ever again.

I was so excited to buy this. A friend gave me a $100 Amazon gift card for Christmas and I used it just for this. I didn't realize it was a third party though so shipping took longer than my Prime account and it came from UK. I tried reading instructions but that didn't work so well so I watched u-tube videos. Unfortunately, Prym is popular in Europe and most videos were in Italian or another language I didn't understand. I did find that there are other knitting machines that are very similar and the videos were in English so I watched about 10 of them. Still the machine kept dropping stitches and sticking occasionally as if it were starting to break. When I decided to return it I found out that shipping would be $280!! Thank goodness Amazon is such a great company and did stand behind me with their A toZ Guarantee. I would not recommend unless you are SURE you want this brand, from this manufacturer and that you live closer to the UK.

OK, I actually have the Innovations machine, which looks like it's 100% this exact same machine, so I'm going to review this one since it's still for sale, and the Innovations is not. I love this thing. I had bought it to make dyeing blanks for wool. But when I was making a hat that required a separate band, I hand knitted it three times and had to rip it out all three due to dropped stitches... then it hit me. Hey... I just spent hours hand knitting this thing (unsuccessfully, as it was black fuzzy yarn that I have such trouble seeing), and it's exactly the same size as my knitting machine. What the heck... give it a whirl. 15 minutes later, I had a perfect band for the slouch hat. Now if only it would attach it to the hat for me... I've made longer tubes and yes it did drop some stitches, but I didn't have the yarn tensioning little round plastic squiggly thingy on, so maybe that could have prevented that, because it seems to serve as an alert flag for when the tension is changed. But for my purpose of making a dyeing blank, it made no difference. Mine has no instructions, but I looked at a few videos, and they said thread every other needle, and that was all I needed. I love this machine! I also have a toy Singer one (for smaller sock blanks), and this is way better (of course...the other is a toy). If I wasn't an actual knitter, I'd definitely make hats with this!

I was looking at a much more expensive knitting machine but decided to try this being as it was so much less expensive than the other and was just 2 needles smaller than the one that cost more than 2x the cost of this. I am so happy I did, this worked perfectly right out of the box, doesn't stick, did not drop any stitches the first time I tried it. The only down side is that there is no row counter but well worth the cost!
