I recently bought an original (fully backwards compatible) 60GB PS3 for $200, and i was extremely happy because i finally own one. So then i wanted to play Need for Speed Underground 2 (best in the series) and i put the disc in the ps3 and then it hit me.... ALL OF MY DATA WAS ON MY MEMORY CARDS. So i started to look around, and i found the best price here from a company called efortcity. First of all, i have purchased all of my accesories with eFortcity and i am extremely satisfied with them and their service, i would really recommend eFortcity. So i ordered it, and 2 days later i got it. Without having to install any software, or update or anything, i just pluged it into my 60GB, pluged my PS2 memory cards (one at a time) and copied all of the data without a single problem. After i was done i had no use for it, but my sister owns a ps2 slim which the memory cards slots dont read memory cards anymore, so i pluged it into the usb slots hoping that maybe the ps2 would recognize the adapter, but no luck. So this is STRICTLY for use with PS3, but !IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITHOUT A SINGLE PROBLEM!... I recomend this to everyone.

I bought this so that I could copy Gameshark Gamesave from my PS2 to my PS3. I know it seems silly, but I don't play enough to beat games again, and I wanted to unlock some things so I could play with a buddy. We usually play shooters, racers, and things like that so I wanted to make sure we had all the maps and characters available to us, without having to hook up my PS2 all the time. It worked very well and did what I wanted. My only complaint was on price. I think $15 would have been fair but I was stuck paying $25. That's kind of messed up for something that has such limited use. What purpose does it have now that my saves are moved over?

I bought a 60gb PS3 about a month ago, and I wanted to keep all my saves from my PSone and PS2 memory cards and let my freind have my PS2 console. I saw this adapter was much cheaper than the official Sony adapter, so I bought this one without thinking twice. The first one I recieved trasfered my data from the 1st memory card no problem, then it breaks. I had another one shipped so I could transfer the data from the other memory card, which it did just fine, but now I have no reason to use it, so it just gathers dust in my desk. This particular memory card adapter is really fragile, and you must remove the memory cards easily so you don't have the same problem as I did. If you plan just transfering data 1 or 2 times, then get this one, but if you plan to use it frequently, then you wanna buy the Sony version.

This plugged right into my ps3 (it is the model that allows ps2 and ps1 games to be played on it). put my ps2-ps1 memory cards into this reader and it transferred all of my save points for all the data on those cards within 8 min.
At first I thought it was expensive for such a quick thing to happen. Thing is, it would've taken me a lot of time to recreate what I've already done on all the video games I've played on ps2, so it was definitely worth it to start from where I ended when I played it on ps2.
Great product worked exactly how I expected it to. The ps3 has a virtual memory card utility you create for the ps2-1 card and it reads the memory card as if it were there for the ps2-1 games.

Only thing I have issues with is you can't play the PS1 and PS2 disks on PS3 to use this. For the money and what PS1 and PS2 downloadable games slowly comming to PS3 it does help not having to start from scratch on a Series like Final Fantasy that you spent ALOT of time doing quests, breeding Chocobos, and leveling , etc... I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to play your PS1 and PS2 oldies on PS3 from your old saves on repective Memory cards. In short I highly Recommend this for anyone that wants to pick up where you left off on your old games on the PS3.

It's great for transferring save files from Sony memory cards, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with other memory cards. But it's easy and cheap enough to just transfer the data between cards and then between systems. This adapter was such a perfect buy after I got my PS3 since I had years worth of data for PS2 games that I still wanted to play and didn't want to start over from the beginning.

I used this to copy my PSone and PS2 game data over to my PS3 and it worked great. However, it feels and looks very flimsy. I have little doubt that it would eventually break with continued use. Now that my data is on the PS3, the adapter has served its purpose I am glad to have spent a lot less money on something that is now going to sit in my closet.

I bought this to transfer my PS1 and PS2 saves to my PS3, and it works, it's of pretty solid construction, it doesn't seem like it would break easily, despite what others have said in their reviews.
There's really not much else to say, it'll do the job you want it to do, and it won't break immediately after.
