I'm really happy that we purchased this PS3 500GB when our old PS3 80GB finally gave out. (Blinking red light). We considered getting the PS4, but we use our system mainly for DVD/BD, Plex, and Netflix, with minimal gaming, so we couldn't justify the extra cost. Besides, we love the DVD/BD remote for the PS3 rather than using the game controller for the movies.
As for the "Destiny bundle", I'm truely enjoying playing again!! I haven't enjoyed a game this much since I gave away my XBox 360 with Halo, or the Ratchet & Clank games which I absolutely enjoyed playing for way too many hours. Destiny has much of what I loved about Halo plus the seemingly endless upgrades like in Ratchet.
In a nutshell, this PS3 500GB is awesome! Its more streamlined than our old PS3 and all my controllers are compatible!
Also, the Destiny bundle is a GREAT choice if you enjoy first person shooter games without all the blood and guts of some of the other titles, but still want all the great gameplay they offer. I'm looking forward to future "Destiny" releases. Keep up the great work Bungie and Sony.

A good product kept and shipped in good condition and includes everything that should come with the bundle except the box itself. However the eject button doesn't work so the cover to insert and remove games needs to be manually opened and closed

Really disappointed how Sony delivered subpar graphics on the PS3 version of Destiny. I see how they are trying to make us buy the PS4, but seriously don't deliver graphics that are even worse than games from the past 3 years to purposely cripple the game. This console also feels cheaper than the older 80GB one I have. I am really concerned about buying any games for the PS3 now as I've heard they did the same with some other games like Shadow of Mordor (again dumbing down the graphics to near PS2 quality levels). Really disappointing Sony. And PS4 won't play PS3 games...jeez. Give us a real reason to upgrade, don't force us to. We as consumers don't like that.

I didn't own any game console since PS1 in college. I bought this in winter 2015, rather than going for next gen PS4, and I guess I got my money's worth playing Destiny 1 for two years until 2017. Also enjoyed Dark Souls 2 which I still play from time to time. As a device, PS3 is rock solid and reliable, no issues with the console, even though this has an HDD, don't really notice major loading times, except for Destiny.

First Play Station Console. Destiny bundle is just great but didn't really get into it.
Definitely you must play The Last Of Us.

I also use my Ps3 to play bluray discs and watch netflix.
Never been a PlayStation lover but once I got mine I didn't regret it, graphics are great, and you can play most of new games too.
PLUS you can play old games, not like ps4.

The PlayStation works awesome. If there was anything wrong is that the sliding lid sometimes doesn't close all the way. Besides that no complaints. Also destiny is a great game and I played it a lot. After the last downloads came out I stopped playing. The career players just got awesome and the occasional players couldn't keep up any more. I would recommend this to my friends and family.
