I wanted to get back into hunting with a recurve after having hunted exclusively with compound bows for the past 20 years, and this seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass up. My bow has none of the problems described in the previous two reviews. I am very satisfied with my purchase, and I would highly recommend this bow to anyone wanting to try out/get back into traditional archery. As for the string issue the other customer had, hopefully he remembered that you have to put twist into the string to set your brace height, and when I set mine to PSE recommended specs, everything was great. My string fits just fine, and the bow came shipped from Sportsman's Guide in perfect condition. Again, I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this weighted 35 lbs for my wife. It arrived with some dings in the riser but otherwise looking ok. I am an experienced target archer, so just in case anyone wonders, yes we strung it correctly, matched and spined the arrows correctly and used proper shooting technique. My wife's draw is only 28" so we weren't asking it to over perform. That all being said, on the second shot EVER the riser exploded in her hand. It came apart along the line of lamination, and there appeared to have been no glue in that portion of the seam. Luckily, other than a fright, she was not injured. I won't use this level of PSE product again. The only way PSE can make this up is by a full refund. We'll just have to see what the customer service is like. If you decide to use this product as an entry level recurve, BE CAREFUL! From what I saw, there is not any rigorous production control. How do you miss gluing over three inches of a laminate seam in the riser?

Ok lemme just say that this is one bow I won't forget, I bought this bow to go hunting with my dad next winter so I started practicing. The very first shot I overshot the target by 2 inches and the arrow kept going another forty yards until it hit my brothers 200 dollar snowboard. And the arrow shattered the snowboard in half. My brother was pissed but all the same. I am now hitting the target relentlessly trying to get my instinctive shot down, if your looking for a traditional bow, but don't want to spend too much money I highly recommend this bow.

I bought this as my first bow and have only used it for target practice, it has more than satisfied my cravings at the range.

It was packed and shipped very well, not much room inside the box for it to move at all, I like that. Assembly/disassembly was relatively painless, a couple of thumb-tightened bolts and a string. While I didn't have the useful sling that most would use to string up a bow, it was still pretty easy to do. The grip on the riser fits my hand almost perfectly, it also come with pre-threaded holes in the riser for future upgrades, a bonus for any level of archer who isn't looking for a 100% custom bow. The sleak design of all recurves catches alot of eyes at a range full of compounds.

Note. Pick up some wax for the string, out of the box wax wore off within two weeks of use. Still worth it for 120-some bucks.

I haven't shot in a long time and this is was a great re-introduction. The bow itself is sturdy and the leaves have just the right amount of flex. Comes with a really good bow string as well. My only problem is that the shelf is very shallow so if you have bigger hands like I do the fletching will nick you almost every shot.

I got my PSE Stalker through the Sportsmans guide. The bow itself is great and i would have given it 4 stars except for today the lower limb cracked pretty bad while I was drawing back an arrow. it could have been a really bad experience but luckily only the back of the limb cracked and about a 10 inch strip came off of it. It sounded like a glacier was cracking apart. Anyway, I called PSE customer service and they gave me a return code and said it was under warranty for a year. They even offered to swap out my limbs for stronger ones (from 45 to 50). The limbs are on backorder and he said it might be a month or so. So, we'll see. As of now, I am out of action until I get my limbs.

Next time I will buy through a pro shop. If you order a bow online, you become your very own pro shop which means you have to ship everything back to the company. If you buy through a pro shop they will swap the limbs out right there. Note to self.

My first bow. It was really easy to put together except the string that was a little hard. It is awesome!!!!!! No this is not some made up post either. I have had the bow for about 11 days now. My shots are somewhat straight all i need to buy are decent arrows not some cheap $3 arrows. So if your buying this have fun. :)

The PSE Stalker is a decent bow for the price. This particular bow came with dings in the limbs. The hardwood, had various blemishes and was not finished with quality.

Once strung the bow appears to be a nice purchase however the this was not the case. I have shot many styles of recurve bows but never have had a bow string slap my wrist after each shot (not my forearm but my wrist holding the bow handle). After looking the bow over, the string seems extremely close to the handle. I am not so sure that PSE sent the correct string with the bow. In fact the limbs are supposed to measure 60" ao and they only measure 56". The string is supposed to be 4 inches shorter than the length of the bow limb to limb but it does not measure 52" which leads me to believe that the string it wrong.

I am sending this bow back to Sportsmans Guide and replacing it with the PSE Mustang which has many positive reviews.

Good luck and hope this helps and that PSE fixes this issue.
