PSPgo - Piano Black
Amazon.com
Introducing the smallest and mightiest PSP system yet. With the PSP Go users can download the best digital games and movies directly to the 16GB built-in memory and use built-in Bluetooth support to connect a wireless headset to more easily utilize Skype to talk with friends. But best of all, you can show off content via the new ultra-crisp 3.8-inch LCD screen, maximized by the PSP Go's new slide out control design. Go versatile, Go digital, Go anywhere.
The PSP Go, has all the functionality that older PSP hardware versions had, but includes many important and exciting changes. Unlike previous versions whose primary means of playing media was via a built-in Universal Media Disc (UMD) drive, the PSP Go does away with UMDs altogether and instead relies on a media solution combining download functionality via Sony's PlayStation Network, larger onboard storage capacity and removable Memory Stick Duo support. This major change allows for a slim design, quicker access files and a much more quiet, energy efficient gaming experience since there are no longer any spinning UMDs. Other major changes include: Bluetooth support, allowing Internet Skype calls to now be made using compatible headsets; and more importantly, a change to the control scheme. The PSP Go features convenient slide out controls. Although these are consistent with historical PSP controls--featuring four directional arrows, the four familiar Sony face buttons and a left-oriented analog thumbstick--their ability to be placed out of view when not in use allows the PSP Go to maximize the use of its screen and your viewing pleasure. A Full Entertainment System in Your Hands The PSP was designed to handle all varieties of applications and entertainment -- music, video, communication, wireless networking, and, of course, gaming. PSP Go users will enjoy topnotch 3D games with high-quality, full-motion video, and high-fidelity audio. Its ultra-crisp 3.8-inch wide screen LCD display is bright and beautiful, and works well under many different lighting conditions. A Wealth of Games to Choose From The PlayStation Portable gaming library is hundreds of titles strong and covers a wide variety of genres. The PSP Go is compatible with all PSP formatted games and Sony has pledged to have all these available for download via the PlayStation Network's PlayStation Store. Whether you are seeking the hard knocks of football or other sports games, the strategy of a puzzle games, or the action and adventure of shooters and racers, there's sure to be many games in your future with the PSP Go. Via the PlayStation Store users can also download an assortment of PS One games ported over to the PSP format. The PSP Go is capable of graphics quality that is comparable to the PlayStation 2 console, but in a pocket-sized package, so whatever your game is you can be assured of a quality experience. Watch Movies and Videos on the Go When you just want to sit back and enjoy a movie or video on a long plane trip, or anywhere else, the PSP Go has you covered. It offers two options to do this: you can either transfer media ahead of time to a Memory Stick Duo, or using the PSP Go's Wi-Fi functionality, your free membership to the PlayStation Network and access to a hotspot, you can download movies, TV shows, game trailers and more directly to your PSP Go. If users prefer they can also download content ahead of time to a PS3 or a Windows-based PC, via Media Go software, for faster transfer to their PSP Go, and can also watch recorded television content downloaded to a Memory Stick Duo with the TiVo-To-Go service. (additional fee and a TiVo Series2 connected to your home network also required). Music and Other Functionality With the ability to play MP3, WAV, WMA, ATRAC3+, and MP4 files, you can easily use your PSP Go as an audio player. Simply place your music on a Memory Stick Duo, and you can navigate your collection using the PSP Go's XMB (XrossMediaBar) to select your song to play. Built-in Wi-Fi Allows for Internet Browsing, Online Gaming and More With built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, you can access the Internet from any accessible hotspot. Once connected, you can surf the Web, check e-mail and visit the PlayStation Store to download games, exclusive demos and game content and even update your system and game software in seconds. The PSP Go is first and foremost a gaming device though. Ad hoc enabled multiplayer games allow PSP players in close proximity to play together, but your PSP Go's Wi-Fi connection also allows you to battle other gamers anywhere in the world over the Internet, in online infrastructure multiplayer games. Other functionality available remotely via a broadband connection includes: Internet radio; LocationFree TV, allowing you to view your home media setup from anywhere; RSS feeds; Remote Play, which gives you access to your PS3; and more. What's in the Box Black PSP Go system, AC power adapter and system documentation. |

The product itself is amazing. I used to own the original PSP and PSP Go when it was first released. I have always been a handheld gaming fan and I'm fairly disappointed that Sony didn't support the PSVita as well as they should have. My soul purpose for buying a PSP Go was so that I can emulate any console under PS1. It's really nice to have a handheld that still performs very well by today's standards. My PSP Go was described by the seller as having minimal scratching, crisp buttons, and obvious signs of wear. When I received it I couldn't have been happier. The PSP Go does have little marks, but for a very old device it's almost brand new. When I say very few marks I mean it. This thing couldn't be cleaner. The seller had to have replaced the battery with a new one because I'm getting about 5 hours of use. I use half brightness most of the time which is good enough for indoor conditions. The charging cord they supplied with it was one they had bought aftermarket. That isn't a problem necessarily. The charger is really nice and works very well. One complaint I had was that the USB cable that came with it couldn't transfer data. It is strictly a USB charging cable. You have to buy a separate USB cable from Amazon called "HDE PSP Go 2.0" data transfer cable for jailbreaking. That's a PSP Go cable specifically for data transfer. It's just something to keep in mind if you buy a used PSP Go. Thankfully it's only about $10 for two cables and they'll ship overnight if you want that option. I have been playing the PSP Go for the last two days straight and I'm very excited to get the data cable in the mail this week. With jailbreaking possibilities are limitless. I really love the design of the PSP Go. My overall experience with this product is 5 of 5. If you're looking for something that can emulate GBA, NES, N64, PS1, any PSP games for free, Etc. Then this is the perfect handheld for you. I picked it up for $120 through the seller GameSwift. There are other good sellers out there but be careful. Read the descriptions carefully. Mine was actually way better than they described it so I got lucky. After another investment of a 8 GB M2 memory card and the charging cables I probably spent $150 total. Don't spend $400 if you don't have to. I know it's tempting but message the sellers and ask them questions about the item first. You can find them for pretty cheap on Amazon. I hope this helped you make your decision.

The product showed up on time. I was initially nervous to open the package considering it was used, but was blown away with how amazing the condition is. And on top of that, it came already on CFW which was the reason I purchased it to install. That's a double win for me. But don't think you will get so lucky. Literally the best thing I've bought from Amazon. Thank you GameSwift!!

Showed up with everything in description no more or no less. It was actually in way better condition than what I expected it to be in.
Updated...
Barely used within the first two and a half weeks because of work. After that I planned to use it and then the system would turn on but the screen wouldn't turn on. Look online and says I may have to replace a cable. So yes I'm pretty disappointed in my purchase and now it's a $135 paper weight.

People with medium to small hands may find the ergonomics of the PSP Go better than the PSP 1000,2000 and 3000. My major complaints with the old PSPs is the size and comfort.
Pros:
1. Better ergonomics for a lot of people.
2. 16GB built in is much faster than UMD.
3. Form factor easily fits in pocket.
4. Component TV out with cradle (seperate purchase).
5. Great looking screen, great looking gadget.
6. MediaGo is a great and intuitive application that works seemlessly with the PSP.
7. Bluetooth for headphones and even the PS3 controller. Some games I play on the bigscreen when I'm home.
8. Comes with Rock Band lite for free. I love free stuff and since you have to buy downloaded tracks I think this was a smart move for Sony.
Cons:
1. 802.11b (instead of 802.11g), however I haven't really been impacted by this as I use the PS3 or PC to download.
2. MediaGo downloads are very slow, PS3 is much faster downloading game content.
3. Price! $250 is way too high. $199 for a release price or $169 to be competetive with the DSi.
4. Game prices! Can't buy used, downloadable games are often more expensive than the new UMD version which is rediculous. Stop charging us for convenience, let us save some percentage of the money you save.
Other:
1. Content has grown exponentially since it's release. It's no longer and issue.
2. I'm worried that a cheaper 32GB version will come out in 2010. Sony loves to screw early adopters on the PSP as evidence of their 4 versions of the product.
Im summary I love the PSP Go but think it's overpriced. I sold mine with a few UMDs and peripherals for $150 so it was only a $100 upgrade and I do consider it an upgrade from the 1000.
If you already have a 3000 and like it, stick with it. If you are in the market for a new PSP, definitly consider the Go if cost is not a major concern. If you want access to used games and a cheaper system go with the 3000. If you find the 3000 to be uncomfortable and want better portability, go with the PSP Go.
Lastly, I'd give this 5 stars if the price was less for both the console and games. Let's drop $39.99 at least down to $34.99.

I don't have an issue with trading in games or renting them from places like Gamefly as I don't do either and I tend to hold onto my games. Not having to swap out UMD's to play different games is pretty cool to me and the fact you can pause a game and exit back to the XMB is also great. It does take a pretty long time to download a game via WiFi but you can download via the PS3 and sync it to the PSP Go either by Bluetooth or direct USB connection. I do wish the digital versions of games were a bit less than the UMD version as that would only make sense, since it isn't using any sort of physical media. It comes with plenty of internal memory for what I need it for as well. The battery life is a little short but I don't play for hours on end with WiFi and bluetooth running constantly which are both big drainers of batter power. Overall, I love my PSP Go. I hope Sony can take this design and improve upon it further if and when they make a second generation PSP. Maybe with TWO analog sticks!!! (hint, hint!)

Love my PSP Go
Reviewed in Canada on December 7, 2010Verified Purchase
Finally bought a PSP Go after a huge price drop on a Black Friday special. Glad I waited for the price drop instead of buying the Go when it first came out.
I also have bought an 8 GB memory stick micro, but with downloading more and more games, music, videos and photos used it up pretty quickly and just today went back to purchase my second 8 GB memory stick micro, expanding my Go to 32 GB now.
I didn't want to have to carry UMDs around with me and needed something smaller.
Great little portable, able to connect to the internet wirelessly and then you can use Remote Play to connect and play on your PS3 !
It's got Skype, Internet radio, coming soon Qriocity (sort of like ITunes).
I bought a convertor from Japan that allows the PSP camera to be connected to my Go and it works perfectly.
Not only all this, but until some time in 2011 (think it's spring), you can also get a code from Sony to download 3 free games
Little Big Planet, Rachet and Clank; Size matters and Socom Fireteam Bravo 3 which would normally cost you $80 !
You just have to sign onto the Playstation Network with your PSP and Sony will email you the code to redeem the games. I received mine in 3 days after signing in.
Some people say there aren't many downloadable games for the PSP, but after looking online, I see many games that are downloadable and Sony are still putting more up for download every month.
In my opinion a great device and now at a more affordable price.
