Wow. I didn't think my expectations would be blown away so quick. After weeks of researching umbrellas I decided to take a gamble on this Purple Leaf system. I received the package a bit late and the box was slightly damaged but I guess that's expected for such a large umbrella. Luckily it's all fully assembled so little work has to be done.
I decided to forego the platic base and built my own cement platform with a basic form (3'x3') which totals >400lbs and holds the umbrella very well even during heavy winds. The umbrella has an incredibly smooth gearing mechanism for 360 degree rotation and a super smooth cantilever pull down. This umbrella is comparable to other ones out there for thousands of $$.
Very happy and this thing is already giving me compliments from the neighbors. The only thing that's unanswered is reliability, hopefully it stays strong for years to come but the jury is still out but I'll definitely update the post of anything happens.

This is the most beautiful umbrella I ever got. The only thing I would prefer if the base has wheels as it is extremely HEAVY to move around. I had to buy a movable dolly to move it. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. It’s a must have if you have a big patio.

We bought this umbrella 9x12 size. 7 days ago. So far the shades been great. The light is amazing at night, makes a huge difference on my patio. The base is 36x36 if you’re wondering the one we bought. This is miami beach and we have to be sure the base will be secure in case of a hurricane. We did a mix of sand and water and probably will add more sand later but we were tired (make sure to get really dry sand). Will update the review once we finish the hurricane season. So far we are incredibly happy. Top quality, easy installation, straight forward, amazing lighting.

We use this cantilever umbrella in our backyard and it’s been a lifesaver during Covid. It was super easy to assemble (all you need is water or sand for the base), sturdy and an amazing value. It’s huge and provides a vast amount of shade and also water resistance! The other day we used it while it started raining and it kept us dry for the entire hour or so we sat outside under it. It held up better than the sail shade we had over the pergola with regards to water resistance. The light features on the umbrella also look much more high end that those on similar items and the crank, wheels, and other mechanics are all easy to operate and feel sturdy. People also regularly comment how nice it looks and how it makes our backyard feel like a hotel, which is important to us since we care about the aesthetics.
