Cheaply made. I ordered two of these. The first one arrived already broken, probably damaged in shipping. Amazon took care of the return immediately and without incident. New stand arrived quickly and intact. Took them to a show (soapbox/public speaking type show, nothing fancy or demanding) and when I was packing up, one stand fell over and the plastic part connecting the tripod legs to the main column shattered on the floor. I didn't even drop it, it literally just fell onto its side and shattered. The actual tubes are aluminum, but the connectors are crappy, brittle plastic.

In retrospect I should have shelled out $20 more for a better quality stand. I have used On-Stage stands in the past and their connectors are made from much tougher plastic. I expected something similar with these stands, but that was not the case. Do not waste your time with these.

Packaging was not damaged, but the support for one of the legs was broken. It was made out of plastic. I figured that if the stand couldn't survive shipping it probably would not be a good idea to place a speaker on it.

Works exactly as expected and it has held up well over many months. I use a 10" Active PA speaker on this and it works beautifully for that purpose. Easy setup and operation; completely solid and stable. Probably not the best stand in the world or the most rugged, but for this price, I can't give it less than 5 stars. Unless you've got some really expensive or heavy speakers, I wouldn't spend it on a more expensive stand. Use the money you save to get better audio gear.

**UPDATE** 10/2016 - Left it standing in the upright folded position. It toppled over on concrete and the plastic hinge shattered as it hit the ground. This is not a heavy duty or gig-worthy type of gear but should be good for the casual user as long as you're careful not to make the same mistake I did.

These are fabulous. Lightweight, easy to assemble/disassemble, look good. Gave them 5 stars, but one addition that would be nice to be added for a couple of extra dollars is a carrying bag. But knew it wasn't offered,hence stands themselves deserve 5 stars.

It came really fast but there was a separate piece in the box that was broken. I have no idea what it was for because I cannot find a space where it would have gone so no biggie. I have a 15' sub Harbinger speaker and it's pretty heavy but this stand does a great job keeping it steady and up at the hight I want it. There are better ones out there but this is a great item for the price.

I bought these for my JBL 515XT speakers. Perfect! They are rock solid and an amazing price. I saw someone had trouble with the plastic breaking (leg tube junction piece) - it seems heavy duty to me and don't expect it to be a problem. The center pole is 35mm (1.375", 1 3/8") which is perfect for my 36 mm speakers; should work just as well for 38mm/1.5" speakers.

Great stand , very rigid but easy to use. Supports all Standard speaker sizes and even has a spring in the pole to i guess help support the weight. The opening of it has a double pull which it weird. Can't explain it that well but you'll know what i mean when you buy one. Good buy
