While probably intended for lab use, I bought several to use as measuring beakers for kitchen use. The Pyrex quality allows for diverse temperature changes and microwaving. I often use it as my drinking glass when having to mix measured drinks, especially useful for those persons on regimented diets or medicines that require accurate measuring. I recommend buying several to keep some on hand while others are in the dishwasher. You may want to get additional sizes to meet your personal needs. Don't let the metric scale bother you. After a couple of uses, you'll understand the amounts you need. If you're afraid of the Metric System, you only have to Google "unit conversion" and you'll have several options to easily compare or transform your measurements.

Pros:
- Good quality glass
- Accurate measurements
- Clearly printed measurements
- Holds up through the dishwasher
- Pours smoothly

Cons:
- Better size for small cocktails than a larger beverage like iced coffee, but that isn't really a true con - I just need to order a size up

I recommend this beaker for recreational kitchen use. I have not used this product for use with non-food items, so I cannot offer an opinion for that.

Made from thick glass. Graduated from 0 to 200 and then 200 to 0 in increments of 25. I like Pyrex stuff so I didn't figure this would be any different. When it was shipped they wrapped it a few times in bubble wrap and applied tape very liberally.
