Directions

Place one Mini in the palm of your hand, add a few drops of water on top and wait 3 seconds. Now rub your hands together for approximately 6-10 seconds to generate a lather. Apply shaving cream to skin and start shaving.

Takes a bit of practice to get the lather working well, you can easily end up with either all water or just yellow muck. Once you get the right mix in though it lathers well and works great for fast travel shaves. My only recommendation to the company is to sell 4 10x bags using that great thick plastic as it helps ensure the individual capsules don't rupture. I'd rather pay an extra 50 cents or a dollar for the smaller baggies because I want to ensure they don't pop in transit, and bringing 40 on a week or two long trip is overkill. Being able to only carry 10 in a durable bag like what you provide would be much more useful. For now I'm just putting all of them in a zip lock at home and using the big bag with a few days' worth on my trips.

Super convenient for travel

Have had many a trip over the past year where I didn't have time to shave before leaving, or was traveling for long enough where I needed to shave on the road. I take 1-2 of these pods when I travel in a small plastic 1oz cube (like something you'd use to bring a sauce with your lunch to work) so that the capsule doesn't get squished, and the best thing is that I can even take it with me through security in my carry-on (unlike an aerosol). Only issues is that I find that the pods have disintegrated a bit in their main package (probably because I let some moisture enter accidentally), but they remain perfectly serviceable.

On the plus side, this is excellent shaving cream providing a low friction, clean experience.

On the minus side, it's a mess. The original packaging is a clump of moist (but not compromised) cubes; I cannot imagine trying to take these sticky cubes on a trip. The cube, which is supposed to dissolve, never completely goes away, leaving a small piece of plasticy stuff in the bottom of the sink; must be removed or washed away (wondering how the pipes will like this goop). To get a decent dissolve-and-gel, I have to use two hands, which makes for twice as much clean up as with any other product, and the product is sticky to clean away.

Not bad, but not worth the mess or the expense compared to other products.

When traveling, it seems I never have enough space in my suitcase, so I’ve tried various combinations of shaving creams, soaps, brushes etc. This product is a “home run.” The tiny packets of shaving cream dissolve easily in wet hands, and then I work the cream into a lather without the need for a brush. The result... a quality shave and a little more space in my toiletries bag.

My biggest concern is how fragile with packets might be, so I always pack them in a rigid container. A small pharmacy pill bottle holds about 8 or 9, which is about as long as I am usually on the road. The bottle works great. The packets are protected and I haven’t had a problem with them drying out. Will definitely purchase them again when I need a re-supply.

Excellent product marred by flawed execution

I've taken a few of these on several road trips for work in a little ziplock bag. They lather well and I get a nice shave. These little pods have a kinda slimy coating and a water-soluble membrane. This makes handling them a cumbersome, sticky bit of choreography that undermines the value of the product. It would be nice if the pods were packed in a bubble pack like Dentyne gum, allowing the user to pop out one pod at a time while the others remain sealed away from the deliquescent environment in which they are used.

These give a great shave. The packaging is clever but the pods have to be in something as they are slimy (wet) on their own. I place a few of the pods in a small ziplock bag when traveling. Other than that they are fine. Pods dissolve in hand with a little water and a little rubbing. Give a great shave and the scent is nice.

Now if I'm traveling for 10 days, I just need to pack 10 sachets of the shaving cream. While the PVA outer pouch doesn't always dissolve 100%, you still get a good hand full of shaving cream to use. And most importunately, I am very satisfied with the quality of the shave cream.

I love this idea and they work pretty well. It's important to follow the instructions to take one out with dry hands only--use a wet hand and the whole batch gets goopy, although still usable. I agree with the reviewer who suggested packaging in smaller batches (of 5 or 10). The scent is nice--masculine and outdoorsy--but it would be great to have an unscented version or one a bit more feminine.
