First, this is a fantastic deal for what you get.

The Presonus sounds great like the rest of their gear. The only thing i don't like about it is that the headphone output is hardwired to an aux send (7). There is no way to route the main out to the headphones. The sound quality is great, and has a good amount of headroom. The software is nice, very low latency (playable as a drummer), and the iPad app is a great plus.

The mic kit is adequate. Nothing special, but they are both passable mics for entry level recording. They are not as smooth as higher quality condensers, but you get what you pay for.

Overall, very happy.

For those who are wondering, is it a good interface?
It is... I personally have owned it for a month now and I'm very impressed with it, I ordered another one so ill be updating to let you know how 16 channels does for live audio.

Currently I have it set at 48K 24bit (128 samples) @ 2.7ms. If you don't know what that means, it's virtually no latency, it feels like your playing through and analog mixer.

If you don't have a FireWire port no worries because this 1818VSL does the same for USB.
By the way, the sound quality is very impressive I've used the Profire 2626 and many other high quality interfaces, this one is very un colored, real tone sound with very low to no hiss, sounds like it should be a little more the what it is.

But if your debating 1818VSL or M-Audio FastTack Ultra 8R get the 1818VSL the 8R only has truely 8 XLR in's vs 1818VSL can have 16 XLR in's perfect for home to pro recordings to Live Mixing and recording simultaneously.

Comment if anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer!
