A "dual" capacitor, such as this one, is used to operate the compressor on one section, and the fan on the other section, on a heat pump or central air conditioning unit. In the Florida heat, capacitors will tend to fail every few years.
Two years ago, an air conditioning company in Palmetto, Florida, offered me a "free" inspection on my Frigidaire heat pump. The technician said he found that the capacitor was failing and recommended that it be replaced. From past experiences, I knew that Grainger used to sell these for around $20. I was stunned when I was presented a bill for $225.00 for the capacitor!
A few months ago, I bought this from Amazon for under $20, to keep as a spare part. Three weeks ago, our unit was blowing hot air. The fan was running, but the compressor was not. With nothing to lose, I shut off the power to the unit and replaced the capacitor with this one. It worked! Saved me a service call and money.
Yeah, it's Made in China. But so was the one that went bad. Good luck finding a USA-made one.
I would caution anyone to make sure that a replacement capacitor has the same values as the original. And there are the dangers of working on electrical and refrigeration equipment, unless one is skilled and/or qualified to do so.

Installed one of these last summer and it is working fine. saved me a lot of money and having to put up with the incompetence of most air conditioning companies. I bought 3 so I would have them on hand in case i needed it they were so cheap.

Perfect replacement for the OEM equipment. Easy install. Price beats paying some HVAC company <$175 (which is what I was quoted). Ordered this and watched a YouTube video and viola, up and running in <1hr (because I was being VERY CAREFUL as I'd never done this before, though it could be done in <15 minutes if you know what you're doing).

The A/C company I used to work for used Packard caps with great success so I figured I'd stick to what I knew. Item was still new in box when it arrived and tested 45/5 on my multimeter. Couldn't ask for more.

Perfect performance, exactly as advertised. It has been running my air conditioner compressor just fine. It is physically larger than the original so it should be able to dissipate its heat better. That should help with longer service life. The original was a disappointment. It will take a few years to report on actual service life.

Lenox HP 26 heat pump ac stopped working and this little item got it going again. Very simple install, quick shipping and priced well below local sellers($11.00 vs $25.00). Bought an extra for next failure in about 2019.

Never fixed an air conditioner in my life. Had problems with my compressor fan not starting, and when I was able to get it kick-started with a stick, it ran slowly. Googled the problem, found this solution. 12 bucks and 10 minutes later, it's working like new. Best money I've ever spent.

This was an easy swap with the old capacitor. I bought an extra and still paid less than buying anything local. So far so good. If this last the rest of the year I am good, but I do not see any reason it would not last longer.
