May 31,2016 update: After Verizon finally uprated my S5 to 6.0.1 android, now my connections issues have gone away. So, for the price, you can't go wrong. Just remember, a phone reset also means a watch reset. AKA, of you turn off your phone, you will also have to do so with your watch. to reconnect. Make sense?

After two days evaluating this watch, here are my thoughts.

I have tried other smart watches with mixed feelings. There are a ton of options out there and deciding on which to buy can be daunting to say the least. First off, smart watches have a long ways to go. The main hurdle is the operating systems which they will be used under. It seems that every new release of Android presents more challenges. With that said, here's my final assessment on this watch.

Features versus cost: This watch wins hands down!!!!! You can make and answer calls via the watch. Yes, you read that correctly, and without using a SIM card. It has a camera, though a low MP, it is functional (when you insert a MSD card) you can take pictures and also record video. Also, you can be notified of anything your phone notifies you of. You may want to deselect some notifications as this can get on your nerves quickly.

Pairing your watch to your phone is easy; making the BT-Notifications work is not. I read other reviews and followed their suggestions and they worked. First, charge your watch via the USB cable that comes with it. Then, power it up and then go to your BT settings and pair the watch with your phone. Once paired, answer Yes to the "sync now": that the watch asks. Then, go to the watch menu and keep scrolling until you see the "quick response" button. Click on it and a QR code will come up. Use your phone to read it and it will take you to a website that you can download the app for your phone. Once this is done, you will open it and find that it will NOT see your watch. Don't despair. Turn off the watch and start it back up; this may require doing more than once (why I don't know), and if after three times your watch doesn't find your phone for BT notifications, then take the back off of the watch, remove the battery for say 30 seconds and the replace it. Then power the watch up and it should not only connect to your watch but also connect to the BT Notification app, which is what this watch needs to make it a "smart watch".

Drawbacks to this watch; It can't get more than ten feet from the phone before it disconnects. So, keep the phone on your side while wearing the watch. Perhaps this is just my setup only, I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0; Verizon's version.

No, this watch is not water proof. No, this watch is not made of super strong material.

Yes, you get what you pay for and in my humble opine, this watch is well worth what you paid for it.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes, and I have already done so.

I bought 3 of these. There are instructions in the box with Kanji on one side and English on the other. It looks like it may have fallen victim to a poor translator. Nonetheless, I have a Samsung Gear 2. The quality is almost spot on with that. You will need to follow these steps to make it work. Charge the watch. Make sure you have a QR reader on the device the watch will interact with. You can find them in the play store if you don't have one. After, turn it on. If a watch face comes up first, push the button again and hold it for a second or just slide your finger across the screen. This will bring up the main screen with a phone and envelope the screen slides side to side like a smart phone. Swipe to the right until you see a QR code. Tap it and it will expand. Then use the QR reader on your smart device that it will sync to. This will open another link to take you to the Internet. You will be downloading this onto your smart device BUT make sure your permissions are set BEFORE you download to accept apps from a 3rd party outside of the play store. You MUST have the permission set before trying to download or it will error out our not download completely. Once it is downloaded, look for the download and tap it. It is an apk file. If you have the Google dropbox, you can put it in there first. Open the BT notification app (BT for blue tooth). Make sure your Bluetooth for your phone is on as well as for the watch. The watch turns on automatically in airplane mode. Press and hold the airplane icon to turn that off. Make sure both devices are on with the discoverable setting activated. Start searching for the device from your phone, not the watch. An identical code will pop up in both your phone and watch screens. Follow the prompts on both devices. When all is done it may still look like it isn't working right (if you aren't using the sim card in the watch) but it is working. Have have someone call and text you. You can make and receive calls on your watch as long as your phone is in range you can also do the same for texting. You will have a keyboard on the watch screen that you can type your message on. On my Gear 2, I can use the talk to text feature to respond to a text. I haven't been able to get the find my device feature to work on the watch yet but there is probably a way that I have yet to discover. You can pop the back off to add a micro SD card for storage if you like. I believe you can buy a simcard for it and use it as a phone. You would have to put it on a plan or buy a prepay. Then the watch will also operate as a stand alone phone complete with the capability to search the Internet. This watch has a lot more features than my gear 2 and the display is great. The default on the display for brightness is midrange dim but you can tap the settings wheel next to the airplane to brighten that up just perfect. The sound is loud and there was no trouble for either me or my husband to hear each other with him on his cell and me on the watch. You'll have to explore the watch quite a bit but it's relatively easy to learn. I set this up on the Samsung Note 4 edge.

Not bad for the price. You must have an SD card in order to use functions such as Facebook. It worked to make calls but texting was difficult. Battery doesnt last very long. Ended up giving it to my 7 year old brother to play with because I got tired of charging it.
