About the Author

Ceisiwr Serith (David Fickett-Wilbar) is a writer and teacher in the Pagan community. His interest in prayers and rituals grew naturally as a result of working in the Wiccan and Druidic traditions, as well as writing books such as A Book of Pagan Prayer and Deep Ancestors: Practicing the Religion of the Proto-Indo-Europeans. He is a member of Ár nDraíocht Féin, a Druid fellowship, and is priest and liturgist for Nemos Ognios grove in Durham NH. He has been published in the Journal of Indo-European Studies and Proceedings of the Harvard Celtic Colloquium.

It's rich without being pedantic or showing off. Reading and using these prayers gives me delight and satisfaction.

I am glad someone has finally come up with Pagan guidebook for Ritual and Prayer, which can be used by many people of varied and different beliefs. Although the name Pagan is used generically, it covers a wide range of faiths, ideas, and beliefs, so to cater for All Pagans is a tall order. Ceisiwr has done a very good job in this respect though, no doubt there will be some who will find flaws in the variety and not catering to their own private beliefs.
This book lays down some very good guidelines and gives many examples of prayer and ritual that can be developed further. For those who want hardcore western magic/k there are plenty of books to meet that need. What Ceisiwr has done is provide a wide framework for anyone of a Pagan belief to build upon and create for their own personal use.

The chapters on prayer, rituals and ritual structure were the only useful parts of the book. The prayers themselves weren't beautiful at all. And after a section of rhyme and meter, most of the prayers did not follow his own rules.

I ended up creating my own prayers.

Very disappointed with this purchase.
