Editorial Reviews

"A little bit of Dickens, a little bit of Austen, a little bit of magic." -C.

From the Author

Page Turner started from a gravestone. The gravestone says simply "Page," but she's buried with her family the Turners. Who names their child Page Turner? And what hopes did they have for her? Far more than she was able to accomplish in only seventeen years of life.

So I started writing her story. What would Page Turner have done to have lived up to her name? The result isn't a Victorian Romance, unless you think of Ebenezer Scrooge as a romantic figure. It isn't steam punk, because the machinery of this strange city isn't the focus. And it isn't a fairy tale, though it has a villain, a heroine, and a fair bit of magic. It certainly isn't Pride and Prejudice, though Avarice and the Arcane sounds similar. It is simply the story of girl who grew into her name.
