PaidaLajin Self-Healing Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 151 ratings

This is the second edition of PaidaLajin Self-Healing. The first edition, published in 2013, contained the basic theory, concepts, and testimonials. This edition is based on rich experience from hundreds of PaidaLajin self-healing seminars and workshops worldwide, clinical research statistics by medical institutions, and thousands of testimonials from self-healers in more than 60 countries since we started promoting PaidaLajin in 2009. It also includes FAQs and recommended PaidaLajin regimes for specific health problems, acute or chronic. It is therefore much more comprehensive, and "reader-friendly".

PaidaLajin Self-Healing, authored by Hongchi Xiao, introduces you two “green” self-healing exercises—Paida (patting and slapping body areas) and Lajin (stretching tendons) that can help you relieve or even self-heal pains and diseases without the worry of side effects. It also reveals some of the simplest truths about the human body and how diseases originate.

According to Chinese medicine, all diseases are caused by blocked meridians (energy channels in the body). Hence, disease prevention and healing can be as simple as clearing meridians and expelling toxins and waste in the body. Paida and Lajin are the most direct methods in this regard, which explains their miraculous effects in dispelling various pains and diseases, as has been repeatedly proven by self-healers around the world.

By activating the body’s innate self-healing power, PaidaLajin helps improve health naturally and holistically. These seemingly simplest methods, when genuinely practiced, promise to reward you with much more than better physical health.

Important concepts of PaidaLajin self-healing:
Ignore the disease name
Regardless of what disease one has, he/she must first ignore its name. Please note that it is the name that should be ignored, not the disease itself. Diseases are named mostly according to one of the symptoms, and therefore a disease name is only one of the many symptoms, or just the tip of an iceberg; there are likely other, more severe underlying diseases that even doctors or patients themselves are unaware of.

Complex diseases
“All diseases are complex diseases”, i.e. a complex of many diseases.

Carpet bombing
Using PaidaLajin in a “carpet bombing” manner cleanses the body’s 14 meridians (energy channels) from all directions. This eliminates all known and unknown diseases holistically, instead of treating them according to divisions of medicine.

Anti-virus software
When practicing PaidaLajin, we are actually activating the “anti-virus software” in our body, i.e. the self-healing power. Once activated, it scans the entire body to clear all blocked meridians. That is why one feels hot, cold, sore, numb, itchy, painful, swelling sensations, etc. during the process.

“Pain medicine”
Nobody likes pain, but it is actually a gift from the Creator. Firstly, it serves as a protection in human life from all kinds of dangers; secondly, it is an accurate diagnosis, since the pain means blockage, or dis-ease; thirdly, it is accurate healing because pain will cause biochemical changes and generate all necessary hormones needed by human body, and hence it is a super-medicine. Like diseases. The “pain” here refers to the sensation felt during PaidaLajin. Some may refuse to do PaidaLajin because of the pain. Actually, it is precisely the reason that PaidaLajin should be practiced.

Please note:
PaidaLajin (slapping and stretching) are physical exercises—they are not meant for medical treatment.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

I believe that the right path to healing should be most direct, simple, "green" and accessible. Bound by deep-rooted perceptions of being cared for by professionals and healthcare system, people may have long turned a blind eye to the obvious "right path". I nonetheless believe that it is meant to be manifested through the "simplest healing methods" -- Paida and Lajin.

My dream is that eventually EVERYONE becomes his or her own healer.

Mr. Hongchi Xiao was born in Hubei Province, China. He is a natural healer, acupuncturist, and founder of Pailala Institute, a California non-profit organization, dedicating himself to promoting PaidaLajin self-healing method worldwide.

In 1990, Xiao got his MBA and subsequently worked in finance area in the U.S. and Hong Kong for over a decade. Though he had a comfortable life in the business world, Xiao often felt a lack of purpose in life. Starting in 2000, he began to trace his roots of Chinese wisdom. In 2006, he met a monk, who told him that he was destined to study at some temples and monasteries in the mountains of China.

For the next few years, Xiao followed the list mapped out by the monk and studied with healers, Taoists, monks, and hermits. This series of events led him to rediscover Chinese culture and to learn from masters of Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) as well as many therapies previously thought lost, including Paida, Lajin, acupressure, acupuncture, bone setting, and needle-knife.

Then he began his healing journey in Tibet, where he healed a few thousand people for free. After that, he opened a clinic in Beijing. At this clinic, he asked patients waiting for treatment to practice Paida (slapping) and Lajin, (a special form of stretching). Many people relieved their symptoms simply through Paida and Lajin, before even seeing him for treatment. Suddenly this “healing by oneself” concept took over him.

Since then, Xiao has been dedicated to promoting these treasures, particularly the simplest ones—Paida and Lajin. The other therapies he has mastered do work wonders, they are nonetheless quite complex and are still passive means of “healing by others.” They are not safe, simple, and effective methods of “healing by oneself,” and therefore can’t be easily accessible to all. Instead of healing up to a 100 hundred a day, now he can teach thousands to heal themselves in a day.

Xiao believes that we are our own best doctors. To promote this lifestyle and to empower people to self-heal, Xiao has authored such bestsellers as Journey to Self-Healing, and PaidaLajin Self-Healing in China and Taiwan. Each sold more than one million copies. Now he is traveling the world giving lectures, organizing workshops, and demonstrating PaidaLajin to promote self-healing. He has visited scores of Chinese cities, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Holland, Canada, the U.S., South Africa, and Lesotho, etc. New calls will take him to places, big or small when conditions are “ripe.”

Xiao asks doubters and theorists: “Have you tried PaidaLajin?” For Xiao and millions who have benefited, the only way to test the efficacy of PaidaLajin is JUST DO IT!

Paida Lajin book is very interesting, describing meridians of organs on important body places. Also exercises are easy to learn and practice. You need not to buy special tools. Cheap natural method. Sometimes few years ago before I knew about this book when I had headache I wanted to slap my head or after nose operation to slightly tap around it, I felt it so natural and did it. But not enough long. Now this book explains that this is the most natural way and approves my doing. Slapping is natural, and you must know where to slap, where meridians go.

For such little money, I acquired a lifetime tool to get healthy while the medical industry continues exploiting and creating patients. I respect the author not only for his skills, but for his willingness to convince to cure people.
I started with 10 minutes each side day and I can feel my shoulders loosening up and itchiness in my foot on the floor. I can feel biking easier as well as moving around. The breathing is also easier although I am fairly healthy. I do not have extreme pains but I feel bored waiting so I put on some music and practice belly breathing at the same time. I feel this daily minimum is quite helpful and eventually will increase to 20 minutes a day. I love the floor squatting. I can sit and relax this way for hours without any pain. And as I starting feeling lousy one day, I started partying my arm, the purple stuff surfaces on the skin and I also patted my head and along the meridians. I took some extra antioxidants with the meal and went to bed. I woke up as healthy as ever. I did not even take any herbs. I usually shove down some garlic but I had some apple cider and vinegar for my throat.
The book is a treasure and I enjoy his stories with the Tibetan monks. I am glad the Chinese government allow him to share his knowledge freely unlike our medical pirates in the US. He can be eliminated if he invades the market. He knows it but karma will take care of him. He will not get cancer like our american medical intellectuals who cannot even cure their own family. My gratitude to him for publishing such a useful books.

I got this book on the recommendation from a Magnum book I bought. There are also plenty of you tube videos for clarification. I couldn't believe it! This really works. By stretching and "slapping" exercises I felt the difference. This book is #1 seller in Hong Kong. There is a reason for this. It works. At first, it may seem a little strange to Western sensibilities. It's all about meridians of energy in the body. By slapping these "points" on the body - old stagnant energy is moved and starts to flow freely again. Keeping these meridian lines "open" keep the body and mind in good working order. It may seem strange at first, but give it a good honest try. You'll be glad you did.

Very easy, practical and effective self-healing method. Painful in the beginning though! First take it easy, then gradually extend the duration of the practice. And take into account that both paida and lajin can ignite strong and unpleasant cleansing processes. But don't let it discourage you to continue with it. Know that these cleansings are all temporary "good" side effects and an inevitable part of the healing process. I recommend it to integrate it into your daily routine.

I really enjoyed the concept and the new idea. When I started doing the slapping on myself for the first time, I instantly got a bruise on the inside of my arm. After the next few times it was completely gone. I have done a lot of healing on myself, so I didn't experience any major shifts, other than the initial bruise.
I also find the technique quite noisy and time-consuming. I know there is merit to the technique, much along the lines of ice cold showers, but it requires dedication and time. I think it will be excellent for people with a lot of stuck energy, though they should be careful not to overdo it.

Well written. Simple uncomplicated language. A necessary read if one is embarking on the process.
The table on hypertensive statistics however is missing a column on the extreme right, which contains vital information with regards to the success of paidalajin particularly for hypertension. Nevertheless, this book contains a treasure of health information.

It sounded good on paper. but aside from being a tough read, repetitive, poorly written (the author's second language) when you finally get down to the technique of it, it seems a little off-putting. severe maybe.
my plan is to try a moderated version of the technique (which I can already hear the author advising against) and see if I get results over time. he needs an american advocate for his technique to make it palatable for a western audience. maybe the seeds of a wonderful method here, time will tell.

It is a great text book full of knowledge. The system is simple but it takes time to measure it. To get the full experience, search also for the exercises on line so you can see whaypt you read in video. Healing happens but it takes time and consistency to work. The Paida part is challenging specially when you are suggesting it to patients or clients, but if you read and understand the whole conceptions reasons, it makes all the sense in the world.
