About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Debra Holland wears several hats when it comes to writing. As a psychotherapist, she writes nonfiction books. The Essential Guide to Grief and Grieving is her first nonfiction book. More nonfiction books about grieving, boundary setting with difficult people, and relationships, are forthcoming. Debra also writes fiction--Historial Western Romance, Contemporary Romance, Fantasy Romance, and Science Fiction. Her Montana Sky series, sweet historical Western romances, is published by Amazon Montlake. The Gods' Dream Trilogy (fantasy romance) is available on Kindle. The common publishing philosophy is that an author should take different pen names for different kinds of book or "the reader will be confused." Debra thinks her readers are smart enough to distinguish between her various books. Thus, she's publishing everything under her own name. Debra lives in Southern California and has one dogs and two cats. She's a second degree blackbelt and teaches martial arts. She also is a corporate crisis/grief counselor. You can join her newsletter subscription list or learn more about her at www.drdebraholland.com.

Again Debra Holland kept me reading to the very end. Meeting Pepe again, laughing at Mrs. Murphy's attitude, seeing the twins and loving the Falabella stallion, Chico; these are old friends in Sweetwater Springs and I loved catching up with the families. It was exciting to bring Lily to town. This book is a Novella and I expected the quick read. It was a sweet way to spend Christmas and I loved being with "my" Montana ranchers and their lives. I eagerly look forward to the next book in the Montana Sky Series. You can't go wrong reading a Debra Holland book.

I really enjoyed this book. I think a lot of American Girls, though having no particular actual physical disability, still would identify with Lilys emotional state. For as many reasons as there are girls, many of us have real hang ups about our body image. Finding true love even when it's totally unexpected is about as romantic as you can get. There are lots of things to like in this book. Beautiful country, a hurt rancher, a pretty unassuming artist, a sweet kid named Oscar, what's not to like.

Just finished "Painted Montana Sky" .... thanks Debra for another trip back in time, I get lost in the era, as well as in Montana. Love your colorful characters and happy endings! Just what the end of 2012 needed!

This is the story of Lily, an artist, in Montana to paint flowers. She had an accident when she was young, broke her leg while riding. She met Tyler, he owned a ranch and had a young son. His wife had run away with a painter, they died in a carriage accident. This is fairly good. It was a little bland and you knew what was going to happen. Some of these stories you hate to say, not very good, read that, again and again. These authors put a lot of themselves into writing these. But....some of these authors should go back to school. Good enough to read.

Lily is a painter working on a commission of wild flowers of the West. Tyler Dunn, third generation rancher, is leery of women since wife abandoned him and their son.

I am an avid gardener. I first picked up a camera to photograph the wild flowers of the West especially South Dakota, Montana, and Washington. The author does a good job of seeing the wilderness and open prairie through an artist's eyes.

I enjoyed this story in this book of the series; however like some of the other reviews; I felt that the book ended to abruptly. All of the books In this Montana Sky Series have different stories; but are basically the same - the on again and off again romance while the whole time you know that they will get together in the end....then as soon as they get together and marry the story stops. I also felt that the price of this book was a little much for the length of the book and was very disapointed that this book as well as Healing Montana Sky are not books you can lend; which makes no sense to me as the books previous to these two can be loaned. I loan my books to my daughter and find that some of the series can be loaned and some cannot is disapointing.

When the artist begins to paint, little does she know that her life is going to change. When her little dog almost drowns, and the rescuer is a tall cowboy with a young son, she is caught up with the young boy's talents. In her quest to follow the flowers she
paints, she finds the love shown, she has always dreamed of.

A little far fetched even for a romance. The irony that the author portrayed was a little far fetched. I am sure there were artists in the old west but a woman artist who was crippled in a riding accident meets a rancher whose wife had run off with a "painter" only to be killed in a carriage accident.... Well, the characters did not whet my imagination much. It was a little too sweet for my tastes. It was a short read, though.
