Although expensive, this tool is worth every dollar. If you ever dull the cutters, they can be replaced. They strip the wire without nicking the conductor. I use mine for model railroading and they significantly speed up the job of wiring a layout and installing DCC decoders.

I do a lot of breadboarding with smallish gauge (22-30) wire and this works pretty well. Very quick with little nicking, etc. I used Utica gun type strippers for many years and still prefer them but they are no longer made.

Purchased this extremely expensive tool for use on 28 ga. Teflon wire. Used the correct "red" jaws they say are necessary. Strips very poorly. Greenlee owns Paladin. Customer service sent replacement tool. It strips poorly too! Teflon is tough stuff, but this tool is supposed to work. Don't waste your money. Use a $10 stripper from the Depot instead. Amazon allowed full refund, they were great.

One of the main reasons I bought this stripper was because it said it can strip ribbon-cable conductors. I tried many times with different gauge ribbon cable and different amounts of conductors and it failed every time. An indent where the blade pressed against the insulation would be present and that is all it would do. Very disappointing performance considering the price and on box details.

When switching to single conductor wire, this stripper performs very well at all of the the gauge sizes it specifies. I think it is the best performing single conductor stripper I have ever used so far, but expensive. The tool is much smaller than I expected but comfortable to use and seems pretty solid. It seems to meet all the other capabilities it claims, except for the one I really wanted it for.

Details from the box:
*Strips PVC insulation from 28-18 AWG wire (2108 blade included)
*Interchangeable blades available for 32-18 AWG Teflon-insulated wire
*Strips flexible & solid wire
*Simultaneously removes insulation from multiple & ribbon-cable contuctors
*Specially formed blades ensure no damage to conductors
*Adjustable wire stop & built-in wire cutter

This is absolutely the best automatic stripper I've ever used. The super cheap hardwarestore models don't even compare. I've used nice strippers from lots of manufactureres, and I'd take this little Paladin over them any day. We have some of the larger Paladin Stripax strippers here too, and they're nice but they tend to overstrip the jacket due to the metal tabs in the jaws. Not so with this stripper, the plastic jaws are very gentle on the jacket while still providing plenty of pressure to strip the wire. This stripper allows me to get clean, consistent (and short, if needed) strips on the 24ga PVC jacketed audio cable I use the most, but also works great on many other cable types that I have around here. Yes, it's kinda spendy, but it's well worth the money.

This is a proven design. Does not damage the conductor. It has replaceable blades. You may expect decades of serice. Pay close attention to the gauge range. The only one I've seen break was used on wire the was grossly outside the stated gauge range. Works on stranded and solid wire. Works on wire-wrap wire.

I bought this tool specifically to strip 28 AWG PVC ribbon cable. It's expensive, Paladin has a good name and there aren't that many tools out there that claim to strip 28 AWG wire, but it doesn't do the job. The stripping is erratic - sometimes stripping all the wires, sometimes missing a wire. The adjustment screw has a very narrow range in which it goes from not even marking the insulation to nicking the wire, and it moves during operation. I'm looking elsewhere.
