About the Author
Biography Kathy Marsden (writing as Kathryn Myra Spencer) was born in Duncan, BC, Canada in 1951. She grew up next to the Cowichan River, on a property homesteaded by her Irish grandfather in 1885. As the village of Paldi was just a few miles away, she attended school with the Paldi children and came to know a little about their culture. Thus began her love for India. At 17 she left her pastoral home and moved to Vancouver where she attended the University of British Columbia and received a BA in Art History and English Literature. She later graduated from the Adler School of Professional Psychology with an MA in Counselling Psychology. She was in private practice for 20 years, and has now retired. In 1999 Kathy joined a painting group under the tutelage of Joseph Wong and learned to paint in acrylic and oil.
