I like this book. I like the integration of some curry, Asian, classic stews and seafood recipes. I can see little problem making a Paleo version slow cooker meal since the slow cooker is used mainly to roast meats, or make stews from tough meats that long cooking renders very tender. The only reason a slow cooker meal would not be Paleo is when starches (rice, pasta, etc) are served along side. I have read these reviews that make note of the long list of ingredients which are mainly spices or fresh herbs. If one is making a habit of eating in this manner, then it is beneficial to stock up on the dried items and learn to grow (even in small spaces) and maintain herbs for cooking. Some others also complain that it is not suitable for "busy" families. That just means that one is not willing to try. The purpose of the slow cooker is supposed to ease the schedule of busy families... Doing the work while you are at work. Take a few minutes to make a shopping list, buy quality produce, buy meat in bulk and freeze for later meals, and cut the veggies the night before. That is suggested in the beginning pages.
I can't wait to do the Spanish fish soup, and the Irish stew. These are both a little out of my repertoire but I ain't scared.

If you are looking for a well formatted cookbook that is not the same old recipes, you have found it. She starts with some tips on crock pot cooking...always a plus. All recipes are easy to follow. I was surprised by the different combinations of ingredients. Recipes call for pork with raisins & cashews & another pairs pork with mango. There is a recipe for wild boar with fennel & chestnuts. The best is The Best Paleo Chili Con Carne. It creates a mole' sauce using dark chocolate, cinnamon and maple syrup to enrich the chili. My favorites are Spiced Beef & Apricot Pot Roast and Venison with Sultanas. The venison pairs sultanas (the raisin not the concubine) and apricots. Blueberries are great with venison so I will substitute them for the apricots next time. I recommend it.

The Paleo Diet has been the most beneficial for my health. This is not a fad diet, it's a lifestyle. Lucky for me my husband is an avid hunter/fisherman. This cookbook offers a great variety of recipes and I'm so in love with the ease of the slow cooker.

I'm trying to cut back on my carbohydrates, and this Paleo diet recipe book provides a wonderful assortment of delightful and healthy recipes such as spiced beef and apricot pot roast, pork and mango citrus stew, pineapple glazed pork loin roast, and Spanish fisherman's soup. I'm eager to introduce my slow cooker to some of these great recipes!

Before I found this book I didn't even know what Paleo cooking was. Armed with this resource I feel confident in entertaining friends and family with without contaminating them with chemically altered foods. Who knew cooking with meat could be so gratifying! This book has become my guidepost in how to cook paleo. Bless your hearts for putting out such a fantastic book! ;)

Some fabulous recipes in this book and for anyone starting out on the paleo way of life it will quickly be seen that meals will be something to really looked forward to, not rushed and tasteless.
There are some great stews and the choice of meats are adventurous and won't break the bank balance. Really looking forward to trying the Wild Boar, not a meat I have tried before but it is now on the menu for this weekend.

Favourite so far is the Rosemary Lamb Meatballs. Well put together, lots of variety and a highly recommended purchase.

The book has a simple layout that I enjoy. Recipe, no pictures, no colorful language to dress Things up. They speak for themselves and they all are uncomplicated and require few steps to create tasty dishes. What I found to be most impressive was the variety of proteins used throughout the book. Not just beef, chicken or pork, the book starts out with venison and wild boar. We hunt, fish and forage in our house so these recipes were a welcomed surprise. One oddity was the call for sultanas in one recipe and raisins in another. Is the different drying method of the grape absolutely neccasary for each recipe, or were the recipes adapted from different regions (e.g. USA v UK) and they didn't catch it during editing? Either way it doesn't detract from the recipes it's just a bit confusing.
