This is so unfortunate because the product tastes amazing. I bought one package of it and loved it so I bought the 6 pack. There are mold and worms inside the box and on the packaging. It's quite disgusting. So I went to return it for a new one. There is a no return policy. I'm so sad about this because the product is truly delicious. In a situation like this I feel it's an absolute must to give people a refund or exchange the product. This is the company's responsibility.

I was so excited when I heard about this product because I love hearts of palm and I try to eat a low carb diet. I was afraid that the consistency was going to be mushy but it’s not at all. It actually has great texture to it. Love the flavor and it’s so easy to work with. Just needs to be heated up. I made mine with shrimp and veggies in a garlic butter cream sauce. One package was the perfect size for 2 people. I will definitely be purchasing again. Great alternative to spaghetti squash and other pasta alternatives.

So if you’re Asian or grew up eating stir fry bamboo shoots or go to Chinese restaurant where they actually serve this palm heart in stir fry, it’s basically that. So with that said you can buy this at your local Asian market for way cheaper, like $1 a can. The taste and texture is just like bamboo shoots, don’t let the review images on here deceive you.

As you can see from the photos, they are the shape of linguine, however, each piece is only about 4 inches long. They remain firm, giving something close to a pasta al dente feel in your mouth. And sauce sticks to them. I found them more tasty than say zucchini noodles, but not as tasty as lentil or garbanzo bean noodles.
Hearts of palm are basically water, so if you want some real nutritional value you're going to have to add a protein and some good fats, like I did with the vegan sausage. In this context, they are an excellent wheat pasta substitute.
They are however, expensive. Each package is maybe 2 servings if the pasta is not the main. For me, it was one big serving.

I should preface this review by saying I'm a big fan of hearts of palm. I can eat them right out of a jar. So this product intrigued me from the start. And given realistic expectations, it did not disappoint. I created a tasty "pasta" dish using these noodles, some quality jarred tomato sauce, and vegan sausage. I rinsed the noodles well, but I did not soak them in milk (as they suggest to get rid of the palm taste). I like the palm taste and really, once you add other ingredients to your dish, the taste moves way to the background.Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2019
