How many diapers will I change a day?
In the first couple of months, you may find yourself changing diapers up to 10 times in 24 hours. Diapers should be changed whenever they are wet or soiled. Your baby will often (but not always) let you know. With a super-absorbent diaper like Pampers, you can tell if it's wet by feeling for lumps in the absorbent material. Here are some common times for changing diapers:
- Right before or right after every feeding
- After every bowel movement
- Before bedtime
- When your baby wakes up
- When you go out with your baby
Is there anything special I need to know about changing a diaper?
Pampers diapers are designed to adjust to your baby's shape for a snug, comfortable fit. While you’re changing diapers, there's no need to fold the waistband in or out or to adjust the leg cuffs.
- Place tabs parallel to the waistband and centered on the character strip.
- Use the characters as guides to ensure the fasteners are evenly spaced.
- Keep baby products such as powder away from the fasteners so they maintain their stickiness.
What size diaper is right for my baby?
Just like you, babies like to wear things that fit just right. Choose a size that does not sag or gap, even as your baby crawls and plays. This will help prevent leaks. Each product description on this site gives guidelines that represent the average weight for a particular size. And remember, when you move up a size, you gain absorbency.
What’s the best method to weigh my baby?
The easiest way to weigh your baby is to first hop on the scale yourself. See how much you weigh, then see how much you weigh when you hold your baby. If you subtract your weight, you'll know how much your baby weighs.
Is there any safety information I need to know about diapers?
You buy the latest toys, and babies wind up playing with silly things—like diapers. It's important to keep diapers where they should be, on your baby's bottom. Don't let your baby put the diaper in his mouth. Discard any diaper that has become torn or unsealed, and read the warning label on all bags.
How do diapers absorb all that moisture?
AGM is the absorbent gelling material widely used in diaper padding to absorb wetness. It is perfectly normal to see some gel on the skin from time to time, especially if the diaper is heavily saturated. It can easily be removed by wiping your baby's skin. This material has a long history of safe use in a variety of products and has been in diapers for more than a decade. Absorbent gelling material is closely related to ingredients widely used in cosmetics and in food processing.
Do unused diapers need to be stored anywhere special?
Store your diapers in an area protected from extreme heat and humidity and away from products with fragrances. We recommend that diapers be kept in a dry storage area where the temperature is 85 degrees Fahrenheit or less.
Caution: Keep away from any source of flame. Pampers Diapers, like almost any article of clothing, will burn if exposed to flame. To avoid risk of choking on plastic, padding, or other materials, do not allow your child to tear the diaper, or handle any loose pieces of the diaper. Discard any torn or unsealed diaper, or any loose pieces of the diaper. To avoid suffocation, keep all plastic bags away from babies and children. If you notice gel-like material on your baby's skin, don't be alarmed. This comes from the diaper padding and can be easily removed by wiping your baby's skin with a soft dry cloth.
Ingredients: Petrolatum, Stearyl Alcohol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract.

Reading your review has left us feeling disappointed by your experiences with our diapers. We wouldn't want you to have diapers exploding and leaving Oregon trails of absorbent beads around your house. I'm sorry you've been experiencing this with 5 % of your purchases. We only use safe, tested ingredients and this absorbent gelling material has been in our diapers for over 20 years. If the diapers are very full, you may notice some of the beads on babies' skin at times. Since you mentioned this is happening when your son has barely peed in them, we'd like to learn more about the packages you've had. If you have a moment and would like to share more details, please call us at 1-877-256-3265 so we can help.

However, now and then, something is bad enough to make time to express that towards other buyers as well, and as much as I hate to say it, with our last purchase, that's the case... :(
Unfortunately we have to side with many other costumers who rated the new & improved version very low - we are incredibly disappointed.
I myself was a 'pampers baby', and our son has been since he was 6 months old... he is now 22 months and we used a size 4... and we loved the brand. Devoted buyers we were, as it was the only diaper our son wouldn't leak thru regularly, especially overnight.
We live in the desert, and we drink a lot of fluids.. hence, they fill up quickly, and we go thru a lot of them...
What's changed, that disappointed us? For one, there are there over a dozen less per box now. Not a huge deal, but it all adds up in the end.
The big deal: they are way less effective than they were before the 'improvements' took place.
I am honestly very surprised to see this happen from this brand. We now also have issues with the tape (never had that before), we have leaks regularly (also rarely ever occurred previously, as we change quite often due to sensitive skin and mentioned amount of fluids we drink), just like when we tried the store brand diapers...
The 'feel' of them also appears more 'plastic-y' compared to the nice soft feel before... I'm sorry to say our experience is the exact opposite of all that was communicated via ads to have been improved.
Everything that justified spending more on this brand of diapers seems to have disappeared now - were very disappointed and will now go 'trial diaper shopping' again. :(

I'm sorry your baby had redness and itchiness. I understand your concern as a mom myself and I hope this has gone away. I want to let you know, at Pampers our top priority is keeping babies safe. We wouldn't want any baby to be uncomfortable and work with pediatricians, pediatric dermatologists and safety experts to confirm all the materials we use in our products are safe.
You also mentioned the diapers weren't as soft and absorbent as you wanted. We offer different versions with unique features and it's possible you may find you prefer another kind. We'd love to discuss this with you and offer suggestions. If you'd like to share more details, we're available at 1-877-256-3265.

The first thing I noticed was a very thin diaper (compared to size 2) but I heard/read you gain absorbency. After a few days, we started to have overnight leaks constantly and even when we didnt have leaks, I would change the diaper in the middle of the night and baby's skin was wet. I am not saying it was damp, it was wet as if the baby had peed and the diaper didnt absorb any of it.
There had been times when I pick the baby up and the dampness can be felt on my arm. The very last straw happened a few days ago when I changed the diaper right before the nap and after about 1 hr and 15 minutes, the diaper had leaked and baby and swaddle were wet. I could not believe it.
Highly disappointed and will not purchase these again.
I can understand how having leaks and a wet baby would be frustrating and I hope you'll reach out to us so we can help with this purchase. While thinness can sometimes be caused by the diapers being tightly packaged, we'd want you to have a drier experience with our Baby-Dry. If it's been more than this one case that's been leaving your baby wet, you may want to consider trying another style of Pampers to see if it will work better for your little one. We want to keep you happy with your choice of Pampers and we're available at 1-877-256-3265 to provide help and suggestions. Hope to hear from you!
