How many diapers will I change a day?
In the first couple of months, you may find yourself changing diapers up to 10 times in 24 hours. Diapers should be changed whenever they are wet or soiled. Your baby will often (but not always) let you know. With a super-absorbent diaper like Pampers diapers, you can tell if it's wet by feeling for lumps in the absorbent material. Here are some common times for changing diapers:
- Right before or right after every feeding
- After every bowel movement
- Before bedtime
- When your baby wakes up
- When you go out with your baby
Is there anything special I need to know about changing a diaper?
Pampers Diapers are designed to adjust to your baby's shape for a snug, comfortable fit. While changing diapers there's no need to fold the waistband in or out or to adjust the leg cuffs.
- Place tabs parallel to the waistband and centered on the character strip.
- Use the characters as guides to ensure the fasteners are evenly spaced.
- Keep baby products such as powder away from the fasteners so they maintain their stickiness.
What size diaper is right for my baby?
Just like you, babies like to wear things that fit just right. Choose a size that does not sag or gap, even as your baby crawls and plays. This will help prevent leaks. Each product description on this site gives guidelines that represent the average weight for a particular size. And remember, when you move up a size, you gain absorbency.
What’s the best method to weigh my baby?
The easiest way to weigh your baby is to first hop on the scale yourself. See how much you weigh, then see how much you weigh when you hold your baby. If you subtract your weight, you'll know how much your baby weighs.
Is there any safety information I need to know about diapers?
You buy the latest toys and babies wind up playing with silly things - like diapers. It's important to keep diapers where they should be, on your baby's bottom. Don't let your baby put the diaper in her mouth. Discard any diaper that has become torn or unsealed, and read the warning label on all bags.
How do diapers absorb all that moisture?
AGM is the absorbent gelling material widely used in diaper padding to absorb wetness. It is perfectly normal to see some gel on the skin from time to time, especially if the diaper is heavily saturated. It can easily be removed by wiping your baby's skin.
This material has a long history of safe use in a variety of products and has been in diapers for more than a decade. Absorbent gelling material is closely related to ingredients widely used in cosmetics and in food processing.
Do unused diapers needs to be stored anywhere special?
Store your diapers in an area protected from extreme heat and humidity and away from products with fragrances. We recommend the diaper be kept in a dry storage area where the temperature is 85 degrees or less.

I noticed that these are different from the Pamper Swaddlers I've bought from other places. They do not have the Sesame St characters in front, instead they just say Pampers in a green oval. Looking at them closely, most of them have looser elastic on one side which results in leaking. In every pack of 20, over 2/3s, if not all, are like that (I stopped trying to go through every pack of 20 to find usable ones). I don't know if these are imitation Pampers, or imperfect ones or cast offs that Pampers still try to sell, but buyers beware! Make sure you receive the Swaddlers that have Sesame St characters or say Pampers in a green heart, not in a green oval in the front.
I had read that some Pampers diapers had Dry-Max in them and that it could irritate sensitive skin. However, as much reading I did online I never got a good concrete answer on which Pampers Swaddlers had dry-max in them.
To convolute things even more, go to a local store that sells diapers and you will probably find that some Pampers Swaddlers packages say "with Dry Max" on them and some dont (I'm not talking about the Sensitive version - Just regular Swaddlers). So Pampers makes two versions of Swaddlers, one with Dry max and one without? WRONG! (well, at least according to Pampers themselves that is wrong). Straight from Pampers customer service:
1. Any regular Pampers Swaddlers (non-Sensiitive versions) diapers have Dry-Max (regardless of whether it says Dry-max on the packing or not)
2. Pampers Swaddlers SENSITIVE do NOT have Dry-Max
I confirmed this by sending them the product codes of various diapers I had bought online and in actual stores, and they confirmed that each one had dry-max in it (even though some of the packaging did not explicitly say dry-max on it).
For the really confusing part, there is a non-sensitive Pampers Swaddlers Newborn diaper that does NOT have dry-max in it, even though it is packaged like a "regular" Swaddler (i.e. non-sensitive). Look closely and you will see on each of these newborn packages that it has a special little symbol on it that reads "SPECIALIZED HOSPITAL PRODUCT". What's that all about? I contacted Pampers again:
"Thanks for writing!

My only issues are that on my most recent order, all of the diapers had a small brown spot on the bottom. At first I thought it was from the baby, but I looked though the package and all of the new diapers had a spot. I've used this brand before and ordered them from Amazon with no spots.
The other thing is that, as others have mentioned, sometimes the diapers have the wetness indicator, and sometimes they don't. On my previous order, all diapers had the wetness indicator, which I love. I placed an order for the exact same brand and package, and this time none had the wetness indicator. You just don't know what you're getting.
The diapers themselves are nice, but these few quirks bothered me.
I have been ordering these exact diapers (either from sellers Trend marketing or Planet Stuff, both "fulfilled by Amazon") for about a month now for my newborn (born 6lbs 7oz). They fit her great and we have not had any leaks or blowouts (knock on wood). They are soft, seemingly comfortable for her, and I do not believe that it irritates her skin.
Here comes the tricky part.
As you may or may not know, Pampers has something called "DRY MAX" that is added to some diapers to make them more absorbent. These extra substances may or may not irritate your baby's skin. Search online and you will find that many people have complained about having DRY MAX in the diapers and it giving their baby a rash.
To convolute things even more, go to a local store that sells diapers and you will probably find that some Pampers Swaddlers packages say "with Dry Max" on them and some dont. So Pampers makes two versions of Swaddlers, one with Dry max and one without? WRONG! (well, according to Pampers themselves that is wrong).
Straight from Pampers themselves:
1. Any regular Pampers Swaddlers (non-Sensiitive versions) diapers have Dry-Max
2. Pampers Swaddlers SENSITIVE do NOT have Dry-Max
So, what about these diapers? They are marked as Pampers Swaddlers (non-Sensitive). So we assume they have Dry-Max in them right? WRONG! Pampers does it again and confuses us even more --- order these (from the sellers i listed) and you will notice that packaging has a special little symbol on it that reads "SPECIALIZED HOSPITAL PRODUCT".
