FAQ

How many diapers will I change a day?

In the first couple of months, you may find yourself changing diapers up to 10 times in 24 hours. Diapers should be changed whenever they are wet or soiled. Your baby will often (but not always) let you know. With a super-absorbent diaper like Pampers diapers, you can tell if it's wet by feeling for lumps in the absorbent material. Here are some common times for changing diapers:

  • Right before or right after every feeding
  • After every bowel movement
  • Before bedtime
  • When your baby wakes up
  • When you go out with your baby
Is there anything special I need to know about changing a diaper?

Pampers Diapers are designed to adjust to your baby's shape for a snug, comfortable fit. While changing diapers there's no need to fold the waistband in or out or to adjust the leg cuffs.

  • Place tabs parallel to the waistband and centered on the character strip.
  • Use the characters as guides to ensure the fasteners are evenly spaced.
  • Keep baby products such as powder away from the fasteners so they maintain their stickiness.
What size diaper is right for my baby?

Just like you, babies like to wear things that fit just right. Choose a size that does not sag or gap, even as your baby crawls and plays. This will help prevent leaks. Each product description on this site gives guidelines that represent the average weight for a particular size. And remember, when you move up a size, you gain absorbency.

What’s the best method to weigh my baby?

The easiest way to weigh your baby is to first hop on the scale yourself. See how much you weigh, then see how much you weigh when you hold your baby. If you subtract your weight, you'll know how much your baby weighs.

Is there any safety information I need to know about diapers?

You buy the latest toys and babies wind up playing with silly things - like diapers. It's important to keep diapers where they should be, on your baby's bottom. Don't let your baby put the diaper in her mouth. Discard any diaper that has become torn or unsealed, and read the warning label on all bags.

How do diapers absorb all that moisture?

AGM is the absorbent gelling material widely used in diaper padding to absorb wetness. It is perfectly normal to see some gel on the skin from time to time, especially if the diaper is heavily saturated. It can easily be removed by wiping your baby's skin.

This material has a long history of safe use in a variety of products and has been in diapers for more than a decade. Absorbent gelling material is closely related to ingredients widely used in cosmetics and in food processing.

Do unused diapers needs to be stored anywhere special?

Store your diapers in an area protected from extreme heat and humidity and away from products with fragrances. We recommend the diaper be kept in a dry storage area where the temperature is 85 degrees or less.

We have been on a quest to find decent diapers for the last couple of months. This is our second child, and we did this same song and dance with our first child trying to find a decent diaper, for a decent price. We started with the expensive brands, (Huggies and Pampers) and upon the realization that Luvs was made by P&G and were essentially the same diapers as Pampers, we switched to Luvs. They have been great diapers for 4 years, until recently, which is the reason why we are searching for decent diapers again.

Before I continue let me just explain what I think constitutes a good diaper;
1)Thick and absorbent.
2)Tabs that are easy to use, do not rip off, and stay where you put them.
3)A decent amount of elastic around the legs, not too much, not too little.
4)A no-pill exterior of the diaper (This is somewhat less important, but if you have a kid who scoots around on their booty, it looks kind of gross.)
5)Fun characters. Again this is at the bottom of the list because it really isn't THAT important, but if your kids hates getting their diaper changed you can show them the character and sometimes it works to calm them down during diaper changes. My son falls into this category, he has GI/allergy problems, and absolutely hates getting his diapers changed because we have to do it a lot. Which is also why its important to have GOOD diapers. It gets tiresome cleaning up my son, and the mess from a leaky diaper.

After almost running out of diapers, my husband ran to Target and picked up a package of Baby Dry in size 6. We decided to try Baby Dry because we were subscribed on Amazon, and expecting a shipment in the next few days. I have used one diaper on my son, and I am shocked at the quality!

Pampers may be a little bit pricier sometimes, but you get what you pay for, quality. This diapers are quite absorbent, and fit well. I've tried some others in a pinch(when we've run out), but nothing compares to the Pampers.

These nighttime diapers protect even better, and can hold in a surprising amount of liquid.

i do enjoy the subscribe and save for diapers though i'm bummed that they've changed the policy for ordering the next shipment sooner. Even if you give 2+ weeks notice that a new shipment is needed, they charge high shipping fees. Its not always easy to estimate accurately when my son will run out so we wind up shopping at a physical store to fill the gaps when needed. I think Amazon is missing an opportunity here.

Out of all the diapers I love pampers. Pampers absorb more than the other brands. So when my grandson fills it to the brim, I don't have to worry about a leak! He also does not get rashes with pampers. They keep his skin dry and comfortable. I only buy pampers now because they have proven to work the best and be the most dependable on the market.

I was using Huggies Little Movers for awhile until they were out of stock of my daughters size so I decided to use Baby Dry. I've used them before and I don't remember them being this cheaply made and flimsy. Honestly, if I had my eyes closed and touched them, I would have mistaken them for Luvs. Not that there is anything wrong with Luvs because the price is so cheap, but I expect the quality to be better for Baby Dry diapers.

I know diapers are expensive and very bad for the environment.

But these pampers diapers are the best. The way it's constructed nothing compares.

I have two boys and 1 girl. We've used other brands and we always ended up regretting...

I have always used pampers and have never been disappointed. I never tried any other brand but once i had to get huggies. however, i thought huggies was more coarse and my baby was itchy and uncomfortable in it. I immediately moved back to pampers. Its soft and absolutely perfect for baby's tender soft skin.

My grandson can only wear Pampers Baby Dry Diapers. The other brands give him a rash. He's very big for his age and these last through the night without him waking up in a puddle. The bed is dry and the diaper weighs a ton because it absorbs so much and doesn't leak. Love them.
