It can be used as an optical slave (without TTL of course) that will work with any system. More than I can say about my 580ex ii's which require an additional flash or radio trigger to use in the same manner. The dial is a little small and slightly hard to use, but so are the ones on Panasonic cameras. The wide angle diffuser and catchlight card are difficult to pull out as well. If you have a Panasonic or Olympus 4/3 camera, at least one of these in the camera bag is a must! I can't speak for other Panasonic cameras, but the GH3 controls this flash wirelessly! That is something the 5D Mk II/III won't even do without an expensive accessory. And for Heaven's sake, DON'T USE THE "POP UP" FLASH FOR ANY TYPE OF PORTRAIT, ESPECIALLY INDOORS OR IN LOW LIGHT!

I made a switch from the big, bulky Canon DSLR system to go "mirrorless" with the Lumix GX7 and purchased this to go with it (the pop up that comes built in is woefully inadequate). I am used to the Canon system which would automatically zoom the flash to match the lens but I don't see this one doing that even when set on TTL and supposedly synced with the camera. The results are good but I have yet to try anything truly creative like adjusting the flash output independently of the camera exposure but that will come as I get used to it. Rated it 4 stars due to the excellent design and build quality.

Super flash, compact yet completely Bad Ass, when using video the flash can light up the whole room, and can be used wirelessly, hence its a smart flash. Great little flash, my only small and trivial quite is that in RC or remote control mode, when I have the flash off the camera and am using it via blue tooth wirelessly, the flash automatically sends out strobe effect that I have not been able to turn off, it does not affect the quality of the picture, but just eats up the batteries, which is another complaint of mine, but not really. The thing lights up the room like a work light, and I suggest getting one of those Big packs of batteries at Home Depot, or a rechargeable battery for this baby. Works with other Panasonic cameras

This flash has performed pretty well for me but combined with the FZ1000 I have had them produce some really poor lighting sometimes, in non-tricky situations. Hard to say if it's the camera's or flash'es fault. It also doesn't reliably power on/off with the camera but does sometimes. Again, unsure if that's the camera or the flash but it's definitely somewhere on Panasonic's end ;-)

I purchased this flash from Adorama to use primarily on my Panasonic GH3 off camera in Wireless/RC mode. It is useless as a flash for this purpose. It works fine and as expected while mounted to the hot-shoe. However, when taken off the camera the AF Lamp blinks every second or so to communicate back with the GH3. If you are in a dark room, the light is bright enough to light up the room. If you can imagine being at a wedding and having your flash light up the room every second, you can see how this is a major defect in the product. I called Adorama within the 30 day return period and was advised to contact Panasonic to determine if this was normal or a defect in my particular flash. After six communications with Panasonic, they finally emailed me a month later that: "When using the wireless flash in RC mode and see the af lamp blinking, this is not an issue. That is how the camera communicates with the flash when using wirelessly." I contacted Adorama and they refuse to let me return the flash, stating that it was past the 30 day return policy even though I had initially contacted them within the 30 day period. I cannot recommend this product if you plan to use it "wirelessly" nor can I any longer recommend Adorama as a place to do business.

Extremely powerful flash with a very short recycle time. Knocked off one star because it's a big flash tube built on the smaller body and foot of the lower tier model, the Panasonic LUMIX Hybrid Flash, GN36, Video LED, Swivel & Bounce Head, Wireless TTL, DMW-FL360L. The greater weight of the flash tube makes this flash very top heavy and a more substantial body and metal foot should probably have been used. As long as you're careful when using it (don't bump into the top of the flash when it's attached to something) you should be fine.

A little tricky to figure out in the beginning, but I do like having it around for when I need it. The biggest downside is that it seems like the sensor for the slave function is on the front of the flash. So It's tricky to aim it right. Additionally, I hate that the camera flash has to be up at the same time to make it work as a slave. Sometime I want to light jsut from the side with it and it becomes an annoying impossibility.

I am using this with a Panasonic Lumix G5 and the 45mm Macro lens (I also use a Polaroid flash modifier to angle the light in front of the lens) and getting perfect exposures with TTL. The LED light is a nice added bonus. Haven't tried this wirelessly, as the G5 doesn't support that capability.
