I am rather tossed about this product. I wish that companies would make items that last a long time like they used to decades ago. (It seems that everything we buy now comes from China and tends to be cheaply made with the mindset that everything is disposable like a Dixie cup.) However, if this product was built well and intended to last for years, then the price would be MUCH higher. So, would I rather pay the higher price? Probably not for a headset that may become quickly outdated with technology changes of cell phones and bluetooth. I would only pay the extra money for a bigger ticket item that should not change with technology --such as a long lasting dishwasher, refrigerator, or washing machine. Where are these "Made in the USA" manufacturers? Our barely dipped in water, smelly clothing; spotted dishes; and frozen lettuce really need your return!
Overall, I would say that the product is pretty good for the price. If you plan on replacing it every 2 years, you will not be disappointed. I would not spend more than $15 for a headset just because it appears fancier. It seems that all Panasonic headsets are pretty much the same and wear out about the same.
Pros: Great sound, very comfortable, easy to adjust, no bluetooth radiation on your head, good price
Cons: Inside wire connections wear out after 2 years of use
I use this daily (work from home) and am rather gentle with it - i.e. no swinging it around by the cord or letting the phone hang off it. Comfortable to wear for several hours (although I do like to switch ears every 30-45 minutes).
3 Stars due to the apparent inability to last much beyond the 1 year mark (Amazing to me how close it has been looking at my order history for these).
Update - lowering to 2 stars as the latest one failed (people can't hear me) after about 15 months. I'm now going to try other brands/makes and recommend others to do the same.
I got an ordinary 2.5 mm stereo female jack to 3.5 mm stereo male plug adapter to use it with our older AT&T cordless phone, and it works fine. As a bonus the same adapter allows this headset to work with an LG Revere 3 phone.
Based on the other reviews we actually ordered two, so my wife and I could each have one. So far we are very happy with both. Our phone conversations are so much clearer all around it is really appreciated. The plastic headband seems a little flimsy, but it is certainly light and comfortable, so I guess that's the trade off. Time will tell whether the headband will last for a reasonable time or not. For the price, it was well worth it to us, and we certainly recommend this model if you want a headset..
