Panasonic KX-TG4741B DECT 6.0 1-Handset Landline Telephone
At Panasonic, we believe the best technology makes life less complicated. That's why we've designed our 2012 line of DECT 6.0 Plus telephones to simplify the way you make and take calls. We made our phones easier than ever to see, hear and use so keeping in touch has never been easier. A large LED light atop the handset lets you know when someone calls, perfect for when you can't hear the ringer, and an easy-to-read, extra-wide LCD display lets you see who's calling at a glance. Bigger buttons make dialing a breeze while an amplified handset volume ensures you catch every word, even when there's background noise. So no matter what's going on in your world, connecting with friends and family is still as easy as picking up the phone.

Top Customer Reviews
All of these Panasonic cordless phone systems are near flawless.
Great voice quality, a near endless array of features, and great range.
So what are the differences between the KX-TG4745B (new for 2012) and my slightly older KX-TG6645B (first introduced in 2011 yet still listed as a 2012 model)
Not much, yet a few important differences did emerge.
The newer model (4745B) has MUCH LARGER KEYS. A definite plus for everyone but particularly useful to the elderly or those with impaired eyesight. I think these larger keys would be welcomed by all. The Actual Number of Keys and their FUNCTION is the SAME on both models, they are just much larger on the 4745B.
The newer model (4745B) is certainly louder - and it has a dedicated rocker switch built into the side of the handset to adjust volume. One of my minor complaints about the older 6645B was that it was just adequate in volume, even at its very highest settings, and you had to press a menu key to increase the volume (see my review of that model). Once again, the newer 4745B is better.Read more ›
1. Handset is easy to hold, large and backlit buttons makes it easy to dial out in low light.
2. I use only four handsets and the fifth is stored as a backup. Cheaper than having to buy another one seperately!
3. Sound quality and range are very good.
1. Haven't liked the usability of their Address Book. Too many clicks to get to the right names. A quick dial capability for favorite names would have been helpful.
Overall a great buy. Not sure if DECT 6+ adds to the range over DECT 6; I am assuming it does, but haven't tested it that way.
These were the features important to me;
1. The cost of batteries. This is because I had to spend $15-18 for each Motorola battery and I was replacing them every 9 mos. or so. These Panasonics use Rechargeable AAA batteries. These are still specialized and cost more than ordinary AAA batteries but not $15! I haven't had the phones long enough to comment on how long they last.
2. Sound Quality. Some people complained about that on their phones and it was important to me because some friends call me on their cell phones and have somewhat nasal voices. I basically find these satisfactory. I'd give them an A-. I think it is the DECT 6 technology that accounts for the high quality. You can also BOOST the quality if you're in an area with interference.
3.I wanted the biggest possible phonebook. This takes 70 numbers. Some of the other Panasonics accept only 50, which I find to be too few as you can have to enter some people 3 times--home, work and cell, and maybe vacation home. I don't know why cordless phones can't do what cell phones do with their phone books. This is my one complaint. A good thing though--when you enter a phone number in one phone it is automatically entered in all of them!
4. The handsets and base are backlit and have BIG numbers. Awesome!

No volume amplification. I could not hear the audio functions, except for barely, hence requires ancillary equipment of an loudspeaker--which I don't own. Read morePublished 26 days ago by Marian
