I highly recommend this Panasonic clock radio. I especially like the bright display of VERY large numbers and attractive casing. Accuracy of time, which isn't always dependable in other models, is evident in this case. Of course, one can't be expected to compare the sound quality of the radio to a more complex and more expensive receiver. I would consider it average for a mechanism of this type, so wouldn't classify it as a necessarily negative factor. Overall, a very good buy for the money.

This alarm clock fills all the basic requirements, but falls over on a couple of basic issues. The first and most annoying is the time and alarm setting buttons, for some reason they are hidden on the side and use 3 buttons for forward, fast and backwards (holding down fast while pressing another speeds the process). For whatever reason this system didn't agree with me. I prefer a top mounted 'forwards' and 'backwards' button, the longer you hold the faster it prgresses. The other is the fact that the duel alarm forces you to have radio and buzzer, you can't have both alarms set to use radio or buzzer. They each have to use a different noise system.

Thus is the state of the less than $100 clock radio....The transistor radio you had as a kid had better mid-range sound. The buttons that advance and reset the time could not be less user friendly if Panasonic tried and one alarm only works with the radio so that the first alarm will annoy you awake before second goes off and actually wakes you up. Problem is that if you really need a clock radio with a battery backup that you can count on this is about it. I wish my old Panasonic RX series hadn't died!!!!!

I got this for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. It is very simple to use. The only problem with it is that the snooze time is only for 6 minutes. The dual alarm is great but you can only set one alarm for the radio and the other alarm for the buzzer.
