My review is totally voluntary and is solely on my personal opinions combined with the multiple reactions I observed and heard from the numerous children I shared this Kindle book with! I highly recommend that any adult who is planning on reading this book to or with a child, read the book all the way through, before sharing it with the child(ren). That way, you will be prepared for the wonderful questions the child's excited imagination are quickly sparked with!
The children I shared this book with absolutely loved the book. Initially, I thought it might appeal more to boys than to girls, but that was quickly proven wrong! All the kids were quickly able to relate to Pancho and the story, and because of that, they loved the book. This book can be read as just a fun and exciting kids book. And if that is all you are looking for, this will fit the bill nicely. But I see deeper lessons and values available to those who are open to learning and teaching.
One of the things that showed me the kids interest had been quickly caught up in the story was they started asking questions right away! The first question the kids asked was from the very first page of the book! And the last question the kids asked was always "can we read the next book now?! I don't know about you, but that tells me the kids really liked the book and that means I will be watching for and picking up the next book or books in the series!
The illustrations are the focus of the book; they bring the story line to life for the elementary school target audience. Cowboy and cowgirl fans will love this hero story about the old west.
This was a fun read with great accompanying artwork. Kids should find this new tall tale of the west to be entertaining.
Yes, I recommend it. Refreshing!
