I also wish this had had more intimate interactions with the miseries... be it either physical or dialogue. What we did get was decent (minus model man.. he wasnt very involved but honestly hes the least attractive of the bunch so wasnt too bothered by that)...
Hoping the next book is a bit meatier story wise, relationship-wise, length wise. I want a book that's going to last me at least a full day (since ebooks tend to be on the shorter side).. this one lasted a couple hrs :/
I agree with a previous reviewer who said certain parts seemed glossed over with chances for character development via dialogue slightly missed. That being said, though, the book held my attention and turned out to be pretty awesome and imaginative. I liked the pace, the characters, the concept, the backdrop. It just worked. This is the start of a new series and does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but it only entices me to want to know more! I CANT WAIT for the second book!!
Pandora's Pain is wonderful. Pandora is a beautiful, sympathetic heroine with a fun, naughty streak. Imagine being locked away for what seems thousands of years full of unimaginable pain. Then when you finally have a second chance, you quickly realize that you are in over your head. You can't trust anyone, including yourself. You never meant any harm and you've paid dearly. The last thing you want is to be locked back up but hurting men you've quickly come to care about isn't an acceptable alternative. You know you can't sentence anyone to an eternity of the pain only you have experienced. Pandora's men are an interesting assortment. Alex, a disgraced god, sexy and moody; Ashton a rock star, hiding a damaged soul; Zavier an internet mogul, the cute boy next door; and Brock a model, reserved, unknown. I look forward to getting to know each one much better.
This was an entertaining start to a new series. It has so much possibility. Pandora is fantastic. She's unexpected at times. I love when she's impulsive (the robe, her porn) and hope that she continues with more of this behavior. The men are a group of yumminess that should be able to keep up with Pandora, barely. And the impossible task presents a challenge to bond them all together quickly. Love it. All that's needed is to discover Hope.
