I've just got back from a trip & I'm tickled with it. I wished the fabric was a little heavier though. It's plenty strong now, & it's double stitched. But It might not last if left out in the elements. The frame is very hard & has an oiled finish that says "quality".
The instructions get bad-mouthed in other reviews. (just pictures). I had to take part of mine apart after it was semi-assembled because the nice nameplate was going to be on the wrong side & I had the 2 top pieces switched (one end of the fabric is different).
If I did another one, I would use the photo on the box as a guide, and I would pay attention to the fabric being sewn different at one end.
This is a good, adult stool & I'm very glad I got it. The price is up there but I think it's worth it.
The instructions were basically useless, but its pretty obvious what goes where.. The included allen key was too small for my hands. Since I did not have any additional tools where I did the assembly, I had to struggle through and trust me it was a struggle towards the end.
I am not sure if i would use this outdoors. Seems to have a VERY LIGHT weatherproofing but maybe not enough. I guess you could always put some on. I use mine indoors and I was worried about it scratching the finish of my hard wood floors, but no scratches yet. I sat on it and did a small drag with my full weight - not a single scuff on my floor.
NOTE: Use caution when putting the fabric on. First, I put mine backwards (one end is wider than the other), so I had to unscrew and then put it back together (by this time my fingers were in pain from the small allen key) after it was put back together, I realized I put the fabric upside down (you can see the seams). I did nothavve it in me to redo again, so I left it that way...
I promise you will love this...I do and I will be getting the matching table which I saw on Amazon (http://smile.amazon.com/Byer-of-Maine-260P-Collection/dp/B001ECQ1GK/ref=pd_sim_sg_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0A8K7RWRZPWM0FHDPXP0).
HOWEVER, it's a b.... to assemble. I mean REALLY! It took my handyman husband 4 hours of turning the air blue with his cussing. The screws are very big and long, so it's crazy to attempt assembly without a power screwdriver. Now that he knows how to assemble it, we're ordering another so we both can keep our feet up while watching TV.
The wood parts are much larger and darker than pictured, which makes it look sturdier than the "seat" suggests it is. The seat is a small whimpy piece of canvas that looks big enough for a child only but is perfect size for big adult feet.

A bit of assembly installed, but this is a great little stool. I sometimes use them as footrests to go with the Pangean Gliders I ordered at the same time.Published 2 months ago by Justin.b
This thing is so hard to assemble! Nowhere in the description does it say that assembly is required. When it arrived I saw on the package it says SOME assembly required. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Faith Bumgel

The stool was very well executed. The wooden parts were very well made and the fit was excellent. The cloth portion appears to be strong and should last. Read morePublished 13 months ago by Gary P Combes
