Why I need an OBDII scanner?
The OBDII scanner is a car diagnostic scan tool that reads real-time data from your car, such as car speed, engine RPM, fuel pressure, fuel consumption, calculate load value, engine coolant temp, air intake temp, and warns you when there's a problem in your car. It is a useful gadget whether you are a DIY car owner or skilled mechanic. It is easily to plug in your car's OBDII port, reads data sent by car's on-board diagnostic system, detects troubles of ECU and gives you the solution to fix it without having to take your car to the shop every time.
What can I do with Panlong OBDII scanner?
Panlong OBDII scanner works on gasoline vehicle that is 1996 or newer, and is compatible with Android mobile devices. It pairs with your phone and Apps (recommend Torque Pro) via Bluetooth in less than 5 seconds and allows you to monitor your cars sensors, RPM's, speed, transmission, temperature of your engine and other parameters you do not see on the dash board. You'll be also able to monitor faulty codes that comes up, see exactly what may be wrong with your car, fix the problem and clear faulty codes. (Note: Your vehicle may not support all above parameters. How many parameters you can get is depended on the vehicle manufacturer's implementation, as well as the App you use.)

The attached image is kind of fuzzy but you get the idea. Torque allows you to create pages of different style gauges to show values from the car computer.
This wireless diagnostic scanner only sends engine operational data from your car to your bluetooth device, so you will still need something to read the bluetooth signal (typically, you'll use your bluetooth-capable smartphone or tablet, and a downloaded app of your choice; for the software, I paid for and downloaded Torque, probably the most popular ODBII app [there is also have a free version], but as previously mentioned, there are a lot of apps that you can use, just pick the one that you like).
The exact data available from any ODBII reader is dependent on the car itself; some car computers will tell you less than another car might. Generally, it seems the newer your car, the more information that it's computer can share with you via the ODBII connector.
This bluetooth reader and Torque work together seamlessly. Any minor gripes I have are with Torque itself, not this bluetooth reader. Anyway, this reader has worked perfectly and easily for me, and I highly recommend it.
You can get live data as you drive, so you know what's going on with your car.
Again, get this with Torque Pro. Each alone will have little value to you. Pay for the app, and you'll have more information and capabilities than you ever knew you could have. You'll have to research your vehicle to put in the information, which takes a little bit of time; some fiddling with some settings to make it work exactly how you want it, but it is soooo worth it. It'll not only break down how your fuel economy is doing, but will tell you how much the trip cost you if you put the price of gas in. Horsepower ratings. 0 to 60 times. Quarter mile. And clear codes, tell you what is wrong with the vehicle, and what you should do to fix it. I recommend this on Quora for all the questions regarding people wanting to repair their vehicles.
Let me repeat that this guy works perfectly - it's the problem of the standard and the Prius implementation of the non-standard code. On Torque you can select the specific model of your car to add the manufacturer custom codes. I can't say I can read all those from the Prius but they seem to be available.
My money is totally wasted for mileage reading but I'm glad for the price of this one. There is the mileage since oil change that might be usable.
Prior to this adapter, I used a $30 OBD2 traditional scanner that plugged into the OBD port with a cable. That scanner was clunky and had limited capability.
With this Bluetooth scanner, I can tap into the cars computer system to gain much more information. For the price, this device provides good value. I highly recommend.

You can also get real time fuel economy, 0-60 times and a raft of other things if you so desire!
Usage is simple, you plug it into the OBDII port, open an app and you're good to go. (OBDII is usually next the to clutch, or in that general area).
Any questions, ask away!
You can easily read and clear error codes from the cars ECU, just took a second to the annoying check engine light from an ingition coil replacement last year.
i think this is a must have for anyone who owns a car
My insignia was having problems and even though this little problem reader did read a a lot of problems,i found it impossible to find out what some of the codes mean.
The new car i got later on which is an Astra, the gadget did a much better job.
Note: No iPhone app included. Only android. If you only have an iOS device you will have to pay for an app to use with it.
No iPhone app.. only android.. so my other half had to use my android tablet rather than her phone.
Much better than a larger model I owned and returned due to the fact it kept getting in the way of my leg when I would enter and exit the car.
