"Easy Experience" provides easy-to-read menus, easily-accessible buttons, and on-screen organization that reduces scrolling and swiping on the 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display.
Plus, the Flex lives up to its name by allowing you to switch from "Easy Experience" to "Standard Experience" with just a few taps. The Flex also features SwiftKey, a more efficient keyboard designed to require fewer key presses and gain accuracy over time. SwiftKey offers advanced word prediction that learns as you type.

What's in the Box
Handset, USB travel charger, quick start guide
AT&T's 4G LTE network allows for quicker access, smoother media streaming, and faster web experiences. LTE technology is capable of delivering mobile broadband speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G. Additionally, LTE technology offers a faster response time due to lower latency--the processing time it takes to move data through a network--vastly speeding download times for web pages as well as improving services such as mobile gaming and two-way video calling.
And when combined with 4G HSPA+ technology, AT&T is capable of delivering a quicker, more consistent mobile broadband experience than ever before. AT&T has deployed HSPA+ to virtually 100 percent of its mobile broadband network, which enables 4G speeds when combined with enhanced backhaul (via Ethernet or fiber). Backhaul is one of the major pieces of a telecommunications network. Think of it as the limbs connecting AT&T's cell towers with AT&T's backbone network that provides access to the Internet.
| LTE = Long Term Evolution |
Advanced wireless technology capable of increasing AT&T's already-fast network speeds. Now in select markets with deployment ongoing.
| HSPA+ = High Speed Packet Access |
Paired with enhanced backhaul--the accelerated pipeline between our network backbone and cell towers across the country--this technology boosts network performance.
Limited 4G LTE availability in select markets. 4G speeds delivered by LTE, or HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul, where available. Deployment ongoing. Compatible device and data plan required.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System
The Pantech Flex runs the Android 4.0 operating system (dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich), which adds powerful new ways of communicating and sharing while improving on the best Android features: easy multitasking, rich notifications, customizable home screens, resizable widgets, and more.
The new Ice Cream Sandwich interface features an onscreen navigation bar that replaces the hardware buttons for Back, Home, and Menu found with older Android-powered phones. And with Google+ integration, you can video chat with groups of up to 9 friends as well as easily upload and share photos and videos. Other features include:Face Unlock
You can now unlock your phone with just your face using the Face Unlock option. It takes advantage of the front-facing camera and state-of-the-art facial recognition technology to register a face during setup and then to recognize it again when unlocking the device. Just hold your phone in front of your face to unlock (or use a backup PIN).
And the lock screen now lets you do more without unlocking. From the slide lock screen, you can jump directly to the camera for a picture or pull down the notifications window to check for messages. When listening to music, you can even manage music tracks and see album art.Home Screen Folders
Quickly access related apps right from the home screen by organizing apps and shortcuts into folders--just drag one app onto another to create a folder.Multitasking
Multitasking is even easier and more visual in Android 4.0. The Recent Apps button lets you jump instantly from one task to another using the list in the System Bar. The list pops up to show thumbnail images of apps used recently--tapping a thumbnail switches to the app.Voice Input
The new voice engine in Android 4.0 lets you dictate the text you want, for as long as you want, using the language you want. You can speak continuously for a prolonged time, even pausing for intervals if needed, and dictate punctuation to create correct sentences. As the voice input engine enters text, it underlines possible dictation errors in gray. After dictating, you can tap the underlined words to quickly replace them from a list of suggestions.

Top Customer Reviews
The Pantech Flex is a very good budget Android phone that competes with the higher priced phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC one X. The processor is the latest dual core snapdragon running at 1.5ghz with 1 GB Ram. This may sound like technical jargon but what this means is that the phone will allow you to load even the most demanding apps and the play the latest games without a problem. The screen is very large and vibrant (though not as large and bright as a Galaxy S3) and is readable in most conditions. The only feature that is a disappointment on the phone is the camera which has a slow response time leading to blurry photos in most conditions which is a shame because the video recording is actually very good. Overall the Flex provides a great low priced alternative to the higher end Samsung and HTC phones as long as you can live with its imperfect camera.
*** Positive Points Include: ***
- Fast processor
- Large Screen that is bright and very readable with great touchscreen response
- Front and rear cameras that allow for face to face Skype calls
- Excellent 4g LTE speeds (at least on ATT)
- Very good HD video recording using the back camera
- Very bright flash on the camera that doubles as a flashlight
- Bluetooth 3.0
- Good construction with plastic and metal construction that feels more solid than the all plastic HTC and Samsung phones
- Has an easy mode which is great for older users or those who are not fully tech literate
*** Negative Points Include: ***
- Camera has a slow shutter which makes it difficult to take clear pictures
- No upgrade to Android 4.2 (at least not yet)
- Speaker is monaural and is on the back of the phone so the sound is muffled if you put the phone flat on a table
- 8gb memory is a bit on the low side (though there is a micro sd port)
- No USB or HDMI out like you get on the Samsung Galaxy
My mother in law is on my family plan and she for the past few years has had an old nokia stick phone. She's loved it but it was in need of replacement. We looked at flip phones, they were at best $20 so when I saw this for less then $1 I questioned it. But while at the store she played with it and I pulled out my nexus and started to search for reviews and everyone seemed to like it! Sure it's not some super powered phone with the latest and greatest specs, but for an entry level device it is really great. The speed of the phone is quick. No noticeable lag when moving between home screens, starting apps, etc. The Pantech skin isn't my favorite, but they have an "easy mode" which is cool which makes the entry into smart phones that much easier so it's great. If you don't want easy mode, turn it off and you are face with still some heavy customization.
Being a geek the first thing I did when we got the phone was went in and did a factory reset to make sure it was as stock as Pantech allows. I was surprised at how many of the customization were gone after the reset, it was more android like.
My mother in law has become a pretty good user at android after the first 24 hours. She can move screens, is downloading apps, playing games. She's mastered the facebook app it appears and really seems to be enjoying it.
This phone may not be for the super fan, those wanting the latest and greatest. But for non-geeks this phone actually is pretty impressive and easy to use.Read more ›
*Major bonus point - the exterior of this phone is metal, not plastic. Making it far more robust than the designer brand cases which are often glass, or plastic.
I can (and did) drop it a million times, even on city sidewalks, and it doesn't break. It is incredibly light, slim, and stylish. I've been complimented on the phone's sleek design by design professionals. I never needed a case because it's made with plastic, not glass. Whenever I drop it (often) the back cover easily pops off and I can pick it up and put it back on without any damage. It is nice to be able to easily access and remove the battery and sim card.
Great functionality for internet, checking mail, texting, phone calls, etc. Decent battery life. The camera could be better.
