The digestive support tablet works in 3 very specific ways. First, it provides protein digestive enzymes (Bromelain and Papain) and a dose of high quality papaya that was freeze dried to preserve nutritional value. The papaya aids in protein digestion which minimizes the amount of protein that will enter the ceacum where bacterial fermentation of fiber occurs. Too much protein in the ceacum will raise the pH and support the rapid growth of unhealthy bacterial populations that cause bloat, G.I. stasis or other digestive problems. Second, it provides a full compliment of B-vitamins that are normally produced by healthy fermentation patterns. If these fermentation patterns are disrupted then B-vitamin production is reduced and this often leads to a loss of appetite and reduced energy levels. Proper levels of B-vitamins are necessary to maintain a healthy appetite. Third, it contains a unique blend of herbs that actually stimulate the lower digestive tract to naturally contract and relax in a rhythmic pattern to help optimize healthy fermentation patterns. This works great for rabbits and other small herbivores that are less mobile (don’t get enough exercise due to age or arthritis) or that simply have trouble with digestion (especially megacolon rabbits who lack the lower G.I. tract innervation necessary to stimulate muscle contraction). The herbs have been shown to directly trigger rhythmic muscle contraction/relaxation in lower rabbit digestive tract independent of nerve stimulation.

Anyway, these are nice in theory, but if I can't get my rabbits to eat them then they just can't work.
Two stars as YMMV and the ingredient list is rubbish free. Maybe your bun will like these or at least tolerate them.
Since digestive problems is pretty common in rabbits, I thought I could give him something to help his digestive system to prevent problems. Found this for and good price and thought I would give it a shot. When I first offered it to Gambit, he was a little hesitate to trying it (which is common for him trying any new foods). When he did, he loved it.
So I began giving him these once a day to him as a treat. So far he hasn't had any digestive trouble. It could be thanks to this item, my paranoid rabbit mama nature, or a mix of both.
The chinchillas are much more difficult to convince. They have a tendency to take things they don't like in their little paws and toss them. They have shoved even small amounts away when offered.
UPDATE: After a year of trying to get my bunnies to eat these, finally one of them decided he likes them. The other two still won't eat them, but my one that is eating them is the one with the tummy problems, so it's a relief. And I do believe they're helping.
This Sherwood Digestive Support product is probably very good. But if my bun won't eat it due to the anise/licorice smell, it makes no difference how good it is for him. Possibly if your bun doesn't know anything else, this Sherwood product may work for you. If you're looking to replace Oxbow's papaya tablets try the HRRN product mentioned above.

We are giving as a supplement to prevent issues with his occasional fur eating. So far, so good.
